- Luxury self-contained accommodation surrounded by forest
- On the edge of Broulee, a 10-minute walk from the beach
- Adults-only cabins with kingsize bed, full kitchen and barbecue
Your own little adults-only private cabin hidden away in a natural forest… and yet with a supermarket, a coffee shop, a surf school and a long sandy beach within easy walking distance… that’s the rather enticing setup on offer at The Bower, within the Illawong Nature Reserve on the edge of the coastal town of Broulee.
And they’re not just any old cabins either – these are luxury architect-designed spaces, each of which is in its own secluded little spot for ultimate privacy (just the place for a romantic getaway perhaps?) The park has suffered extensive damage in past bushfires, but the folk here weren’t about to throw in the towel: instead they used it as a challenge to get the place looking smarter than ever…
A quick look at the pics will tell you they’ve been most successful on that front: each cabin has a cool open-plan layout with lounge area, full kitchen (with all sorts of gadgets including a dishwasher and a coffee maker) and luxury bathroom. It merges cleverly into the outdoor area, which has a covered seating area and barbecue, all surrounded by lovely tropical vegetation.
Beds are comfy, kingsize and made up with top-quality bed linen; the bedroom area is separated from the rest of the cabin by a roman blind can that can be opened or closed as you wish. Towels, firewood and breakfast are all thrown in too, and there’s both heating and air conditioning to make sure you can keep the temperature to your liking.
