  • Luxurious larch-clad cabin in the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park
  • A half-hour walk to the beach; Tenby 10 minutes' drive
  • Ensuite shower room, well-equipped kitchen and firepit provided
How does hiding away among three acres of gorgeous gardens in the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park sound? Pretty fabulous, right? Well, that’s the deal at Hideaway Cottages, a luxurious retreat about 10 minutes’ drive from Tenby. Book your break here and you’ll be staying in the lovely Luna cabin, a larch-clad little gem surrounded by mature trees and with its own lawn area and terrace. That means you’ll have access to sunny and shaded spots throughout the day (weather permitting, of course), along with places to sit and enjoy the sunset. A firepit (with firewood provided) and outdoor table and chairs are set up out on the terrace so you can continue your alfresco time into the evening. The cabin’s interior has been just as nicely thought out – it’s fully insulated to keep the temperature just right in all climes, and has all the amenities you should need for a comfy break. That means a cosy double bed, an ensuite shower room, a TV and DVD player and a kitchenette with a fridge, an induction hob and a good collection of the kitchen essentials. There’s also plenty of storage space so you shouldn’t be constantly tripping over all your stuff. There’s a peaceful countryside atmosphere here, but you’re not far from amenities and attractions at all. The little seaside village of Manorbier is five minutes’ drive away, although bigger Tenby (10 minutes) is likely to be a better source of shops and places to eat. Handily, Manorbier railway station is only about 10 minutes’ walk away for those who like to travel around on public transport.

Local attractions

Pembrokeshire is well known for its gorgeous beaches – and you’ll be well placed here to explore a few of its finest. You could start with the half-hour walk to Manorbier’s beach and castle, before continuing along the coast path to Church Door Cove (or drive there in five minutes). Barafundle Bay, Broad Haven South and Freshwater West (both 25 minutes’ drive) are a few of the other must-see beaches nearby. Tenby (10 minutes) is hugely popular – and with good reason. It has several stretches of glorious golden sand, some excellent places to eat, cute streets to potter around in, and a spectacular seaside castle. Boats also head out from the harbour for fishing or wildlife watching – depending on the season you may see seals, puffins or dolphins. Away from the coast, Carew Castle and Tidal Mill (10 minutes) and Upton Castle Gardens (15 minutes) are both good spots for a wander. If you’ve brought kids along, Manor Wildlife Park (10 minutes) would be a great outing.
