What customers say
A neat, safe, and well-kept motorhome site with roomy, flat hardstanding spots. Close walk to Pendine beach and local shops, pubs, and eats. Guests loved the on-pitch electric and water, waste disposal, and easy access. Friendly staff, great for sorting electrical hiccups. A bit dear without toilets/showers, but most want to come back.

Not for the faint hearted
Powered concrete slab motorhome site
Liked Pitches were clearly laid out and flat. Electric and water were close to each pitch. Sometimes peaceful.
If you are IT literate the code messaged to you effectively opens the barriers.
The beach and museum of land speed are nice.
Disliked Council staff constantly use the site as a car park despite it being very clear it is a no car site. Their vehicles persistently block camper amenities including the only available picnic table on site and encroach on the fire assembly point (see photo). Campers receive formal messages from "Management" if they follow this example and bring their own car on site.
There is no 24 hour parking for cars in the Pendine area. Public car parks are limited to 8 hour stays with no return so it is not advisable to bring an extra vehicle on holiday with you. We were given contrary advice to this when we phoned and enquired before booking our stay.
Rubbish bins were overflowing in the service point. There were many full refuse sacks piled up at the side of the bins which had been ripped open and there was rubbish across the floor (see photo).
A feral cat seems to frequent the motor home service point and bins area and we got the impression they may live there (see photo).
The water at the foul waste disposal does not work so the foul waste basin and your toilet base cannot be rinsed down after emptying. The basin is in a revolting state because of this.
Pitches 1 to 6 overlook the rear of the motorhome service point which contains a lock-up and loads of junk piled up against it. We assume this is owned by the site as there were frequent visitors (in cars) to the lock-up who were not campers.
Try not to pitch at bay 6 if you have a choice as you will be right beside the motorhome service point with an up close view of the lock-up and the pile of junk and the feral cat may visit you. You will have council staff vehicles parked in front of you to the left whilst simultaneously possibly receiving messages from Management that no cars are allowed on site.
Phone reception is almost non existent.
There are no toilets and showers so come prepared.
The barrier code and electric supply switch seemed to flummox some of our fellow campers so do your homework before arrival as there is no-one to help you when you arrive and it looks like it's all done via phone messages, which is OK if you can get a signal.
The site borders the main road through the village, and whilst we were aware this is the home of UK land speed records, we were not anticipating some drivers re-enacting this on the road directly outside at night where the speed limit is supposed to be 30mph. We can only assume the speed camera warnings are as fictitious as the no cars on site policy when it suits.
The majority of pitches are a couple of yards from Ministry of Defence firing rage fencing displaying "DANGER FIRING RANGE" notices (see photo). Ordinance explosions were spectacularly loud, echoing off the surrounding hillsides and it seemed at times on a par with a sonic boom, this din went on for several hours on one memorable day. If you are of a nervous disposition this site is not for you.
Given all of the above, this site is expensive for what you do and don't get.

Excellent clean site with level pitches.

Liked Easy to book with clear instructions for accessing the area. Code for entry received by text on the day of arrival. You could choose your own pitch so we sited our motorhome backing on to MOD land rather than the road side. Clean, level hardstanding pitch with electric and water on every pitch. Very quiet overnight stay. Only another 3 vans on site. (10 pitches) Nice short easy walk to the beach with small selection of eating/snack venues. Fantastic long flat beach for the dog to run. There is a land speed museum but we didn’t visit. We picked up fish and chips (2 mins away), and ate on the grassy area at side of our van which felt quite private. Elsan point and bin compound at one end of site. No drive over point for grey waste and no toilet/shower facilities so self contained vans only. Overall a really nice spot for an overnight or longer stay.
