The views at Anglesey Holiday Pods are fabulous at any time of year – and at any time of day or night, too. This family-run glamping site is part of an eight-acre property within the Anglesey Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, and it’s in a spot that’s often treated to stunning sunrises and sunsets, along with splendidly star-studded night skies. It’s the sort of place that feels like it could be miles away from anything, and yet it’s actually rather easy to get to – it’s a 10-minute drive from the Britannia Bridge on the A55 and accessed via an A road. Several of the island’s top attractions are close by, too, including Anglesey Sea Zoo, Plas Newydd House and Gardens and the gorgeous Newborough forest and beach (with trails leading out to Llanddwyn Island). The smart wooden pods have been newly installed for the 2023 season, crafted from solid wood and fitted with central heating and double glazing to ensure everything stays cosy inside. Each one has its own fully equipped kitchen, ensuite bathroom with power shower and private garden/patio area. Beds are made up ready for arrival, with towels provided too – so all you need to do to settle in is dump your kit and get the kettle going for a cuppa (or maybe crack open a beer in honour of being on holiday…) Local village Brynsiencyn (10 minutes’ walk away) has a pub/restaurant, coffee shop, takeaway and shop; for more eats and drinks, head to Llanfair (10 minutes' drive).

Cuddfan camping pod

Liked: Clean and well presented. Lots of space. Good facilities - cutlery, crockery, pots and pans, towels and bedding provided. Very quiet and secluded. Perfect spot. Door key got stuck, rang owner and they were over in less than 5 mins to sort. Exceptional customer service.

Local attractions

All sorts of outdoor activities are easily accessed in the local area, including heaps of walks and bike rides, a riding centre (five minutes’ drive) and sea kayak outings (15 minutes). One of the most popular walks in the area runs through the sand dunes and forest of Newborough Warren (15 minutes) to Llanddwyn Island, a magical spot that’s said to have been the home of the Welsh patron saint of lovers. If the weather means you need indoor options, come face to face with marine life at Anglesey Sea Zoo (five minutes) or explore a collection of vintage vehicles at Anglesey Transport Museum (10 minutes). Foel Farm Park, Anglesey Model Village and Plas Newydd House and Gardens are all within a 10-minute drive too for easy local days out. As well as all the attractions of Anglesey, this site is well placed for popping back over the bridge to take a tour of Aber Falls Distillery (20 minutes), visit Caernarfon Castle (20 minutes) or go hiking in Snowdonia National Park (25 minutes).
