What customers say
Unique wild camping spot with gorgeous lake access & peaceful vibes. Great for paddling & scenery. Some found parking a trek & site busy with day-trippers, plus patchy phone signal & limited spots. Others loved it!

The view, was quite close to…
Unpowered grass and gravel tent site (lake view)
Liked The view, was quite close to where you have to park, amazing sunset spot.
Disliked The fact that we was told only one other had booked, got there to not being able to find much in terms of setting up was full of people whether they’d paid or not was a different question. A birthday group (6+ atleast) pitched up next to us drinking all night, screaming, shouting chopping down trees for their fire, walking between pitches they finally slept at 5am! Whilst I understand the wild camping concept (great in theory) this site really does need to be monitored to stop any anti socialness, we chose here so we could wild camp permissibly with our child. Wild camping is meant to be discreet, leave no trace, don’t disrupt others. Really disappointed as the location was great.

From the manager: i can confirm that those campers hadn't booked. i'm so sorry that they disturbed your stay and took away the peace from it
Good access to water…
Unpowered grass and gravel tent site (lake view)
Liked Good access to water
Disliked No signposts or signs, address doesn't exist online, I went to the location on the map and it was along a public footpath and full of evening lakegoers with beach tents so no where to pitch. I then walked all the way around the lake and couldn't find any evidence of a designated lakeside pitch. Spoke to one of the neighbouring houses and he pointed out where it was and said it was a new thing they were doing, but I couldn't find anything. Ended up camping elsewhere so disappointing.

Liked Beautiful lake and great scenery
Disliked Quite a walk away from the main road where it's the only place to park the car.
It's a national trust site so had alot of walkers around. The ground is not level, alot of big rocks
