What customers say

Well-kept, quiet site, with big, flat grass spots (many with power/water). Loved the friendly owners, clean loos and onsite pub. Great for families (playground, dog run). River location’s a bonus. Toilets a bit of a trek from pitches, might be tight when busy.

Love the campsite , clubhouse has lovely staff friendly atmosphere.

Disliked It's not a dislike because toilets and shower facilities are great it would just be good if they were closer to the camping.

Liked Nice flat pitch

Disliked Long walk to the toilet. This camp site is in desperate need of facilities. Looks like they are just starting up for camping as it is a static caravan site.

Unpowered grass site

Liked The site is very well maintained and nicely spread out with lots of space. The facilities are clean and well kept. Everyone was very respectful.

Disliked As a few other people have said, the toilets are a fair walk from the tent field, and with young kids this was a bit inconvenient.

Liked Really flat grassy beautiful field with elextric hook up and lots of water taps close by. Warden very friendly and knew his stuff.
Hot water in shower (,1)
Tidy site with recycling bins next to campsite. Dog park and plenty of playing space. Playground lovely and perfect for ages up to teenagers. Little lake stream flowing along to listen to. Everyone camping people and friendly. Dogs on leads and the little pub cute, great for arrival Saturday night dinner and drinks after long drive and put up of tent. Good size pitches. Good price.

Disliked Toilets (yes) reviews read before we went... so we were well equipped with portable toilet and chemical point right by campsite. Other people drove to toilet block, bit excessive wasn't that far to walk 5 minutes.
Only 2 toilets and 1 shower (ladies and gents) so if busy tent pitches may have been a problem.
Night lights stay on all night and along path to toilet Great unless your tent pitch right underneath one!!!!!

Local attractions

With Eryri/Snowdonia National Park to the west and the Shropshire Hills National Landscape to the south-east, there’s a lot of hiking accessible from this site. You could set your compass towards Lake Vyrnwy (35 minutes' drive), just outside of Snowdonia, for a day of lakeside walks, watersports and cycling followed by a cream tea – or perhaps head up towards Pistyll Rhaeadr (45 minutes) for a four-mile hike with a reward in the form of a spectacular waterfall. Add some historical elements to your holiday in the Shropshire Hills National Landscape. The Mitchell's Fold Stone Circle (35 minutes) still stands from the Bronze Age and the moorlands of the surrounding Stapeley Hill make for another splendid walk. Then there are the Stiperstones (45 minutes), a cool ridge that's made up of rocks that are hundreds of millions of years old – another place for a good long wander. When you’re ready to muck into the rural way of life, head to Park Hall The Countryside Experience (40 minutes), a farm with play areas that has opened its doors for families to get involved in animal activities like meeting the alpacas or watching the pig racing.
