Unpowered grass tent or trailer tent site

Liked: We arrived to a beautiful empty field with magnificent views. I called the owner and he confirmed we had the whole 7 acre site to ourselves!
There's no restriction on pitch sizes, just park where you like.
It's a very basic site with a potable water tank at the top of the site (that you share with the sheep) and a pair of portable toilets by the gate.
It's not very level by the gate but gets better higher up. It's very quiet at night and with no ambient light nearby, it's great for stargazing.
There's lots of places to eat in nearby llandrindod wells and some amazing views locally.

Local attractions

The local area has a wide range of things to see and do, with something to suit everyone, from peaceful walks to more thrill seeking adventures. If you're looking for a leisurely walk, there are plenty of local routes to explore including nearby shorter walks around Llandrindod Wells and surrounding areas, as well as longer routes like The Heart of Wales Line Trail, The Wye Valley Walk, and The Severn Way. You can also walk down across a couple of the farm's fields to Disserth Church with it's interesting interior, and wonderful wooden roof dating from the 15th century. Popular walking destinations include The Elan Valley, The Brecon Beacons, Radnor Forest, and Hafren Forest. Sections of two national trails also pass through nearby; Glyndwr's Way which meanders through 135 miles of stunning Welsh countryside (starts in Knighton, ends in Welshpool) and Offa's Dyke Path which is a 177 mile long path that passes through eight different counties and crosses the border between England and Wales over 20 times (starts in Chepstow, ends in Prestatyn). If you prefer two wheels to being on foot, head to The Elan Valley Visitor Centre where you can hire a bike and cycle around the dams. Or if you have your own set of wheels, a range of routes can be found at Bwlch Nant yr Arian. For animal related activities, head to Fronserth Farm (Llanyre-10mins) to walk the alpacas or to Gigrin Farm (Rhayader-15mins) at feeding time to see the red kites swooping down. Go on a horseback adventure with Lion Royal Pony Trekking (Rhayader), or go and visit the animals at Cantref Adventure Farm (Brecon-30mins) and The Small Breeds Centre (Kington-40mins). If you are looking for a more active adventure, there are lots of water sport activities to do at Lakeside Boathouse (Llandrindod Wells), including paddle boarding, canoeing, and dragon boats. Llangorse Activity Centre is also a 30 minute drive away, where you can scale climbing walls, or channel your inner Robin Hood with a bow and arrow. Or if you are interested in history and culture, explore the local area's offering of museums (Radnorshire Museum & National Cycle Museum, in Llandrindod Wells), as well as historical buildings and sites (Abbey Cwm Hir nr. Llandrindod, The Judge's Lodgings in Presteigne, & numerous castles across Powys).
