Beautiful weather this weekend
Stunning views close to peebles town centre.
Back to nature, close to town
Nice pitch and patio area

  • Dog-friendly 50-acre site in the grounds of a Georgian mansion
  • Spectacular views towards the Venlaw hills
  • On the edge of Peebles and near the river Tweed
Peeps and their pooches – you should come to Rosetta Holiday Park. As it's a sure bet you'll find something to feast your eyes on round these parts, whether that’s the 50 miles of mountain bike trails at Glentress Forest or piles of lovely wares in town… Peebles has lots of artsy attractions and several festivals. Nearby, the river Tweed is internationally famous for salmon fishing too: the Peebles town motto and crest even has three salmon a-leaping up the water. All in all, rather fab. Right on the edge of Peebles, Rosetta Holiday Park is an attentively manicured site which welcomes families and dogs. It's set over 50 acres with spectacular views towards the Venlaw Hills, so it's a feast for your eyes.

What customers say

Rosetta Holiday Park is a lovely, sprawling site in old parkland, loved for its peace and closeness to Peebles. Reviewers often rave about the roomy, flat spots, clean amenities, and friendly staff. Great for dog walking! Some found the facilities a bit old-fashioned and pricey for what's on offer, but most enjoyed the quiet and handy spot.

Liked The site is located on the northern edge of Peebles. Approaching from the south and driving through Peebles may be challenging if you have a big rig. Careless parking and narrow streets demands care! Peebles itself is about a 10 minute walk from the site. Glentress forest along with all the MTB facilities are only 3 miles distant. The site itself is quite pretty with expansive green areas with mature trees. The staff I met were friendly and helpful.
This is not a site I would rush back too, but it is convenient for Glentress and the surround areas.

Disliked The site does have a few negatives: the toilet blocks being the worst. While they were smell free and seemed reasonably clean the facilities looked almost 100 years old. The shower basin has a non-slip mat which I slipped on! After removing the mat to shower I found a number of large beetles hiding beneath the mat. There was a good water flow from the shower, but not hot enough for me. Dishwashing facilities are located inside the toilet area, which doesn't seem like a good idea.
The van pitches could be better marked, maybe with pegs in the ground. Some pitches have (not very pretty) concrete patio area which make it almost impossible to erect a small awning. Some pitches appear to suffer from water logging.
The fresh water tap is located in a concrete structure which, with a filling hose, means you will need to be able to lift your water barrel over a 20cm lip. My wife was unable to do this.
In reception I was presented with quite a long list of 'can't do' rules. Even more than the notorious CAMC club rules. I get that rules are required, but how they are presented could be better. The paperwork handed to me with the list of rules and basic site information could have usefully included a site map to.

I couldn't see any children's play area on the site or any WiFi. Decent 5G for EE.

I believe this site is owned by an investment company who could improve the site with some investment.

Overall, I think its poor value for money, especially compared to other sites that offer better facilities.

Local attractions

One of the many highlights of the Scottish Borders is that, while the region is rightly popular with savvy holidaymakers, it remains off the mass tourist track so you can gleefully pursue your pastimes without areas becoming overcrowded. Fishing is one of the most popular pursuits in the area is because of Peebles’ proximity to the River Tweed, on the top scale of salmon fishing rivers in the world. Go out on your own with your rod licence or bag a trip/course from one of the many local angling centres nearby; the Tweed and its tributaries yield wild trout and grayling too. Elsewhere in the area, anglers have acres of lochs for coarse fishing and the Berwickshire coast nearby for sea angling – and views – off Eyemouth, Burmouth and St Abbs. The mountain bike trails of Glentress Forest, three miles away, are another big draw for active visitors – the Tweed Bike Festival is held here in May and June and Glentress/Innerleithen are part of the world famous 7stanes mountain biking trails. The award-winning centre at Glentress has trails of all grades and a most modern visitor centre with bike wash, bike hire and a bike shop. The Tweed Love Bike Festival is held at Peebles in early summer, but if you miss it/aren’t a mountain biker, several other festivals cover several other tastes such as arts, jazz, food, Highland Games, Rugby Sevens and the traditional week-long Beltane Festival. Dramatic highlights like shows at the Eastgate can be had at any time of the year, as can sampling fresh local produce in the town’s hotels and restaurants, park and river walks by the Tweed and the prerequisite till-ringing at the Old Town and School Brae. As well as Peebles, the Borders has plenty of other characterful towns to seek out such as Selkirk, Jedburgh, Galashiels and the Borders’ biggest town Hawick; those looking for even brighter lights can make their way to Edinburgh, just 20 miles away.
