What customers say
Idyllic, private, quiet spot perfect for wild camping, with lovely seclusion. Campers loved having whole fields to themselves. Basic but clean toilets a short walk. A bit pricey for some, but the remote, back-to-basics experience was a winner.

A lovely quiet place to pitch up and enjoy nature.
Unpowered grass tent site
Liked Loved the secluded pitches and quiet of the fields, as well as the convenience of Exford Village nearby, the owners were very friendly as well!

Excellent, friendly and what camping is all about :)

Liked I absolutely loved my stay here and so did the other half. I loved how it felt like proper camping in the big open wild fields with the fantastic view from the top with the sunsets/sunrise. I think the blueberries were also a really lovely touch to the area to explore and be able to hand pick and purchase. Toilets were really basic but I also really liked that and the shower I discovered next door. 10/10 in terms of camping and what it’s all about and a bonus with being able to sit around a fire in the evening (most places don’t like that anymore). The owner was most welcoming and very knowledgeable on the area and couldn’t speak any more highly about him
Disliked My only criticism was the track as I drive a very old car and thought it was going to kill it 🤣🤣 obviously probably not much can be done about it and would of absolutely loved that if I had been in a 4x4 so just drive with extra care as it’s very narrow and rocky also double check the pin before leaving as google maps has it wrong.

My two sons (21yo & 10yo)…
Unpowered grass tent site
Liked My two sons (21yo & 10yo) and I could not have asked for a better place to take a breather from our city-hopping.
Stunning location, with Exford close at hand for a pub meal at the Crown Hotel (a drive to Black Venus Inn in Challacombe for another day).
Our staging post for walks up Dunkery Hill (foraging for bilberries as we went), and the stunning SW Coast Path from Porlock Weir to Lynmouth. Our host Simon was lovely to communicate with.

Beautiful unique peaceful location for wild…
Unpowered grass tent site
Liked Beautiful unique peaceful location for wild camping, and very remote! - not for the faint-hearted. Simon was very welcoming, charming and very knowledgeable about the locale and lie of the land. Ten minute walk from field to toilet hut - very basic but clean.
Disliked A little pricey. I have stayed on other lovely wildish sites for considerably less.

Lovely wild campsite … very wild and beautiful views
Unpowered grass tent site
Liked Very remote.
Idyllic for us. We had the whole two fields to ourselves and sheep in the neighbouring fields and a hare walked past our tent as we were quiet it was lovely.
Steep hill with gravel and one bit with mud to get up on our bikes but we made. As we are lucky enough to have adventure motorbikes.
A little walk about a field away to the basic toilet and sink. But I love the quietness and wild feeling of it all.
PYO Blueberries in neighbouring field with an aged with scales and an honesty box.
Did love this wild back to basics campsite
