  • Peaceful farm site in Pityme, with views over the Camel Estuary
  • A couple of miles from beaches and watersports in Rock and Polzeath
  • Cornish cream teas available in the gardens on select days
What a cracking Cornish spot – views over the Camel Estuary, a family-friendly pub within walking distance and just a couple of miles from beach times and watersports in Rock and Polzeath. As if that wasn’t enough to tempt you, Blakes Keiro Farm Caravan Site, just outside Pityme, is also the home of Nana’s Cream Teas (open Thursday to Saturday, between 1pm and 5pm), where you can slather jam and cream (in that order) on scones while gazing out over the gorgeous views from the garden. Foodies who’d like to do more local feasting are within a few miles of several fab restaurants and chippies, including celeb chef haunts in Padstow and Port Isaac (which may well also be familiar to those who’ve ever watched Doc Martin on the tellybox). Working up an appetite for such treats is easily done: the farm itself has four public footpaths, and you’re also within easy reach of the South West Coast Path and the traffic-free Camel Trail for riverside walks and bike rides. Golf and fishing are a couple of miles away in Rock, and easy access to the A39 means lots of top attractions are a cinch to reach too. With all this to keep you busy by day, you’ll no doubt be needing a peaceful place to rest your head of an evening, and that’s what you’ll get at Blakes Keiro – no activities or ents laid on here, just some basic facilities in the form of a toilet block, and plenty of space to chill out.

What customers say

Lovely, quiet park with great views and spacious, neat sites, often hedged. Owners get a big thumbs-up, and the new showers are a winner. A few older bits, but overall a ripper spot recommended for its location and chill vibe.

Unpowered grass tent or trailer tent site (wild)

Liked What a hidden gem! From the moment we arrived, Ian and Karen made us feel so welcome – nothing was too much trouble, and their warm, helpful nature really added to the experience. The site itself is beautifully relaxed, exactly what you want for a peaceful getaway. Facilities were spotless and well looked after, which made our stay really comfortable.

A special mention has to go to Nana’s cream tea – absolutely delicious and the perfect treat after settling in. We’ll definitely be back and would highly recommend this campsite to anyone looking for a friendly, relaxing break in a lovely setting.

Liked Lovely location, lots to do locally. Nice to have the games in the centre of the field for everyone to use

Disliked Toilets were quite grubby and someone was playing loud music all night until 6am both nights that we stayed- didn’t seem to be anyone checking that quiet times were being observed

Liked Absolutely loved our time camping at Blakes Keiro!

Wonderful, peaceful spot with great views across the fields towards Wadebridge.

The location was ideal for exploring a brilliant part of Cornwall, with the fabulous beaches of Polzeath and Daymer just minutes away.

We stayed in the EHU field which was superb - plenty of space between pitches and the centre of the field kept empty for kids to run around.

The check-in process couldn't be easier with a big board at the entrance with your name against the pitch number.

Hosts were very friendly and couldn't do enough to help.

Disliked I wouldn't say dislike, but the new toilet/shower facilities could do with more regular and thorough cleaning. But fair play, they never ran out of toilet paper.

One important thing to note for non EHU camping is that there are no plug sockets in the shower block, so you have no way to charge your phone or use a hairdryer. Perhaps some could be added by the owners??

Powered concrete slab caravan site

Liked Very spacious and well appointed pitches - we had an electric hardstanding pitch. Didn't really need hardstanding but the electric grass pitches were full. Nice to have a picnic table. There's a "wild camping" field (ie non electric) opposite which was very peaceful.
Toilets and showers are great! Very modern and clean enough, plenty of hot water.
Good location close to Padstow/Polzeath.
Didn't meet the owner but apparently they do cream teas on Thursday, Friday and Saturday afternoons.

Disliked Glad we didn't go in the electric grass field as it was full of barking dogs, particularly right by the footpath. Thankfully they were on leads.
No ventilation in the bathrooms - gets v hot and steamy, unfortunately the windows are locked.
Washing up sink is outside and there is no light.

From the manager: Hi Lydia,

Glad you enjoyed your stay with us. Sorry about dogs being noisy it is in our rules for them to be kept as quiet as possible. The showers both (mens and ladies) do have extractor fans above showers I will check they are operating correctly. (I could have charged extra for sauna maybe ) will also check windows they shouldnt be locked. Shame you didnt pop into farmhouse we are always there for a chat.

Best regards

Local attractions

You may need to settle here for some time if you’re going to explore all the outdoorsy options nearby. Cyclists can hire bikes in Wadebridge to pedal along the 18-mile Camel Trail, and there are plenty of walks nearby too. Rock has a golf course and a watersports centre for kayaking, waterskiing and paddleboarding. And there are the beaches, of course… try Porthilly or Brea beaches for beach games, Polzeath for surfing and surf lessons, or Harbour Cove (accessed by ferry across the river from Rock) for rockpooling and sandcastle construction. Family-friendly outings nearby might include trips to Camel Creek Adventure Park, the Cornish Bird of Prey Centre or Newquay Zoo, all of which are within a drive of half an hour or so. The famed domes of the Eden Project are around a 40-minute drive away but well worth the trip.
