There are reasons aplenty why many guests at the popular Court Farm Campsite near St Austell in Cornwall plot their return before they’ve even left: the site is in cracking Cornish countryside with the county’s most famed attractions only a few miles away, and you’ll get probably the friendliest welcome anywhere from Simon and Lisa. The family have been on this farm for generations, so recommending days out for guests is a doddle to the Court Farm lot, who can let you know the best pubs, best beaches and best things to do for miles around; if you look confuddled, they’ll even draw you a map. The Court Farm pitches are popular with guests too: level, well-drained, generously sized and set on the edges of the camping fields with plenty of room left for the kids to run about. Other favoured facilities include free temperature-controlled showers with a baby bath and changing mat area, hot water provided in the dishwashing area,a freezer facility and a launderette. Wifi is available. Dogs will get a warm welcome at Court Farm too, but please keep them on leads and away from the horses.

Liked: The place was really good, with really good facilities.
Toilet bathrooms were clean.
There were dry machine and washine machine but needed £1 to use which was good.
All site have electric pods but you need to bring your own cable.
Dish washing facilities was good.

Disliked: Some of the ground surface was little bit uneven because of tractors wheel marks. But it was ok to sleep

Liked: Clean, well kept site, situated in a lovely area. Plenty of places to visit without travelling too far. Not too many pitches in use as out of school holidays. Toilet/shower block very clean. Bonus of small fenced area to let dogs off lead, which we only used first thing in morning, prior to breakfast. Came to Cornwall to visit family, and will definitely use this site again.

Disliked: Not the fault of the owners at all, but other guests seemed unable to follow the dogs on leads rule.

Liked: Really excellent facilities, and very well equipped.
Spotless showers and toilets. Excellent deep sinks for dishwashing. Use of a Fridge and Freezer. Washing Machine and Tumble dryer available for a small charge. Water and bins located near pitch. Very well kept and excellent hosts. We enjoyed a quiet stay, plenty of space. Dog walking area available. Loved it here and would definitely revisit if in the area.

Disliked: Nothing to dislike!

Liked: Lovely owners.
well kept site.
Grass kept low.
nice and clean toilet /shower area.

Disliked: Electric sockets in shower block would be useful.
Recycling not done, however we are aware Cornwall Authorities are not great for this so probs not owners issue.
local facilities and walks etc on arrival would be a nice touch.

Local attractions

No road rage here: Court Farm is slap bang in the middle of Cornish attraction country, with most of Cornwall’s best-known places within 20 minutes’ drive of your pitch. Four miles away, the town of St Austell and its surroundings are the hub for many attractions and activities: the Clay Trail starts from here and the Wheal Martyn China Clay Country Park takes a look at Cornwall’s famous china clay heritage. Then to the beach for the sand and coves of St Austell Bay: look to the east for Gribben Head, part of an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and with the South Coast Path passing around it on its way to Poole (handy hint: that’s a long walk). Thirsty? Head for St Austell’s award-winning brewery for a well-earned tipple; you can buy a ‘Passport to Beer’ book here too telling the tasty tale of beer in the area. The sheltered hidden beach of Polkerris is 10 miles away from Court Farm (you might need to ask on site for detailed directions as they say it’s down a ‘blink and you’ll miss it’ turning). Bag some windsurfing and sailing courses here, have an ice cream at the beach café or munch a meal with a view at the Rashleigh Inn. From Polkerris it’s only a couple of miles to Fowey with its family beach at Readymoney Cove.
