Liked: We recently stayed at Kingston Smallholding Goat Farm Campsite for our first-ever camping trip, and it was an unforgettable experience, thanks to wonderful hosts, Simone and David. We were camping with our young family, including two kids, and Simone and David went above and beyond to ensure our stay was comfortable and enjoyable.
As first-time campers, we were a bit nervous, but Simone and David took all the stress out of the experience. They were incredibly friendly and approachable, always ready to help with a warm smile. When we realized we had forgotten our blankets, they kindly provided us with some, ensuring we stayed warm and cosy throughout the night.
Our kids had an absolute blast, especially when feeding the goats. Simone was so gentle and patient with them, creating a safe and fun environment that the kids will cherish forever.
We can't thank Simone and David enough for making our first camping trip such a positive and memorable one. We highly recommend Kingston Smallholding Goat Farm Campsite to anyone looking for a welcoming, family-friendly camping experience. We’ll definitely be back!

Liked: What can I say about this little gem 💎 it’s called the GOAT farm because it truly is the Greatest Of All Time! if you want an escape from the hustle and bustle, where the kids can roam free and life is as simple as it gets this truly is the place. Not to mention the site is fully eco friendly (bonus).
We were not only welcomed onto the farm but treated as if we were extended family whilst we were there. We received so much information about what to do and where to go on the island to ensure our stay suited all interests. We were invited to the summer fireworks by our tent neighbours and welcomed to join David (host) on a walk up to the pepper pot.
The kids took on all of the responsibilities from filling the hay bins, to feeding the animals twice a day. They enjoyed the experience of learning about the many different goat breeds whilst living as part of a community. All taking it in turns to take care of the fire to ensure the water stayed nice and warm for their evening showers after a busy day out and about and on the farm. Not to forget feeding the pigs all of our fruit leftovers.. they thourougjly enjoyed the bananas! The campfire building was a highlight and the amount of free wood you can help yourself to is unlimited! There is also a vast selection of bikes, scooters, helmets and many other sports equipment and games for the kids (and adults) to help themselves to ensuring there is always something to do! This place really brought out the creativity and imagination in all of our kids ranging from 9-16.
The goat farm, although small has packed one hell of a punch and has left us with nothing but beautiful memories, I know that our family will be back there especially my niece who now wants her own goat farm! Thank you so much guys for creating this beautiful haven, we’ll see you again soon ❤️

Liked: Everything! It was a beautiful, quiet and safe campsite with lovely animals to meet. Our stay coincided with harvest time and our 4 year old son was fascinated watching the combine harvester in the neighbouring field. The owners were very friendly and helpful, and the compost toilets were the nicest and cleanest toilets I’ve ever encountered on a campsite. If we return to the Isle of Wight at some point in the future, we would absolutely return to this hidden gem of a campsite.
Disliked: Nothing, it was perfect for us.

Liked: This is a fantastic place to experience "real" camping. Compost toilet, cooking on fire etc.
If you want glamping and electric hook ups you may need to go elsewhere
Disliked: I didn't dislike anything at our stay, but it probably wouldn't be the best place for pouring rain.

Liked: A really great camping experience. Location is really rural and quiet yet very easy to get to. The tiny hamlet of Kinston is about a ten minute cycle ride from Shorewell village in the beautiful west wight. ( set amongst miles and miles of rolling green hills and farmland.)
Genuinely warm welcome from the campsite owners who introduce you to how everything works. As an eco campsite, the facilities are basic but perfectly adequate and well thought out. Be prepared for composting toilets and their innovative shower in a shed. A thrilling experience but if you are an early riser like me you will need to top the solar shower unit up with hot water from the wood fed boiler which actually I just loved! Showers here really do feel like both an adventure and an accomplishment.
Pitch I chose was spacious ( all of them are) and had a handy bench right next to it ( Handy as I was in a one man tent and bike packing). The owners make a large assortment of wooden tables and chairs available for anyone who wants them. Just help yourself and return when you’ve finished with them.
Unexpected bonus was the availability of makeshift fire pits and an abundant supply of free wood. Who knew old washing machine drums and old tyre rims could be so brilliantly recycled into something this useful! Many campsites charge for a fire pit but here it’s part of the set up you have each night if you’d like it. Everyone on the site took the opportunity for a night fire, with toasting marshmallows providing endless entertainment for both the children and adults on the site.
So I just came for a nights camping but I found myself sat outdoors under a star lit sky, with my own proper camp fire basking in its warmth and loosing myself staring into the gently rolling orange glow of its flame.
Absolute bliss! An unforgettable experience and one I’d challenge all campsite owners to experience so they can all up their game. Definitely and experience I will repeat.
