Liked: We stayed for two nights at Foxewolb in Cumbria and absolutely loved it! The surroundings were stunning, and the cabin was well-equipped with everything we needed. A thoughtful little treat made our stay even more special. During our visit, we explored Lowther Castle and the kids had a great time at the Lost Castle adventure playground. Overall, a wonderful getaway—we’d happily return!
Disliked: The only tricky part was the toilet setup, which was a bit challenging for the little ones.

Thomas shepherd's hut
Liked: Liked everything. We arrived on Good Friday to typical dreary wet weather. We were staying in Thomas this time and loved it. It is smaller than George (who was damaged by weather over winter) but we managed just fine. Andy and Cat came to see if we were doing ok and went out of their way to make sure we were comfortable, bringing a large umbrella so we could sit out in the drizzle at our camp fire. I had stupidly forgotten to bring my music speaker and Cat kindly lent us one. When the weather got the better of us (must be getting old) we went inside to a toasty wood burner, perfect. This place is genuinely perfect for us. It is so relaxing and we came away feeling happy and rested. We are campers, this is a step up from that, but with soul and thought put into it. I would highly recommend a stay here. The rest of the weekend was gloriously hot :) Looking forward to visiting again and will try the other two huts if we can, although i suspect George will always be our favourite. Get him fixed Andy!
Disliked: There is literally nothing we do not like about this brilliant place :)

Betty shepherd's hut
Liked: We had a lovely 1 night stay here, myself and my daughter came for a treat!
My daughter loved the fire pit and particularly enjoyed all the animals.
It was very peaceful and a cosy little hut - the lovely hosts also contacted us to prior to arriving to say they had changed our hut to one with a log fire due to the weather becoming more chillier, which was lovely.
We will back at some point to enjoy the lovely peace and quiet again 😊.
Thank you again!

Ruby shepherd's hut
Liked: A lovely welcome on arrival, helpful, friendly and informative. The hut was amazing everything we needed warm and comfortable.
We highly recommend a stay at foxwold huts and will return some day.
Disliked: Just one tiny thing we found was the steps in and out the hut were alittle narrow/small under foot and made it alittle scary coming out of the hut. Overall this didn't particularly affect our stay or upset.

Liked: Absolutely gorgeous stay. Our hosts were so hospitable and welcoming giving clear directions to the site. The shepherds hut was perfect for our needs with a cosy log burner and comfy bed. We felt very at ease and relaxed, exactly what we needed. Puppies, dogs, horses, shooting stars, what more can you ask for!
Such a great family orientated business, would stay there again in a heartbeat. Thanks again!

Thomas shepherd's hut
Liked: What a little gem this place is😍 it’s such a beautiful small site, the little huts & layout of the site are perfect. I loved the fact we didn’t need to bring much as it’s all provided for you. Loved the shelter cooked area to protect you from the English weather. The perfect place to relax and very close to lots of different hiking trails.
What I will say is remember to bring a power bank to charge electricals as there are no plug sockets.

George shepherd's hut
Liked: We had a wonderful couple of days stay here, with our Black Lab, staying in the George cabin. The weather wasn't the best, but the cosy huts were superb in keeping us warm and dry. It was the dog's first time camping, and he loved the grassy area to run around freely on. We accidentally brought all our camping gear, such as a cooker, pots and pans- the kitchen areas come fully equipped, and made our experience so much better, especially with fresh water taps attached to the huts. The compost toilets are the best maintained I've ever seen, and the outdoor shower is really good too. Give it a try!
Joan took care of us, and she was amazing! Such a friendly face, who was more than happy to answer any questions we had. Other reviews mention the hospitality being great, and I couldn't agree more.
It's a beautiful area too, so perfect if you want to drive and do some good hikes or walks. Lowther Castle is stunning, and is a must! Really hope to be back.
