What customers say
Peaceful, natural bush setting with great views & relaxed vibe. Friendly owners, fire pits, and a true "wild camping" feel. Basic but clean composting loos. Great value for a quiet, back-to-nature escape, with a pub nearby. Some noted longer grass & intermittent toilet lights.

Liked Location was close to what we needed
Disliked Toilets, they were dirty people didn't follow he instructions in how to use a compost toilet leaving them unusable. Needed to be cleaned more regularly

From the manager: Hi Vicki, Apologies for the toilets. I was very unhappy with them when I saw them in the morning, too. We really do try to look after our toilets, and, as you said, if people don't use them correctly, it can take just one person to block them. It was the bank holiday when you were with us, and it was probably our busiest weekend to date. The toilets were cleaned throughout the day and at 9 pm and 7 am, and it's a shame that wasn't sufficient.
I hope you enjoyed the area while you were here.
Well located site for exploring with stunning views.

From the manager: Hi Helen, Thank you so much for your lovely review! We’re really glad you enjoyed your stay at our campsite and had a chance to relax in the peaceful countryside. It means a lot to us when guests feel at home here. We’d love to welcome you back anytime, whether you’re pitching a tent, bringing a campervan, or staying in one of our cosy bell tents.
We built the shower for the Bell tents just a couple of weeks ago, and because there is only one, we kept it for the Bell tent customers. We may open it up, so get in touch next time, and I can let you know where we are up to with that.
Thanks again for choosing our little retreat!
Clean facilities, peaceful, lovely hosts

Liked Everything! Suzie and Sam are amazing hosts and have a lovely site. The site was quite busy but so peaceful, didn’t hear anyone during the day or at night!
Lots of walks directly from the site, either, onto the adjoining moorland or into the nearby village of Ravenstonedale.
There are a couple of composting toilets and washing up stations on the site, along with fresh water.

Liked Weather - Awesome. Pitch - Amazing. Composting toilets were perfect and fit with the Eco friendly vibe. Bins to separate your waste, if you can’t take it home. Drinking water tap and washing up area proper cute! Suzie greeted us on arrival and gave us options where to camp. Along with a fire pit and logs. Then just let us get in with it which is what we prefer! Knew how to get hold of her if needs be!
Disliked The only disappointment was only having one night free!! We will definitely be back!

Picturesque and peaceful basic site.

Liked Very quiet location, up a long single track road. Beautiful setting, so peaceful..
Suzie was great at communicating before our arrival and very friendly and helpful without being overbearing. She directed us to a small field at one end of the site which we ended up having all to ourselves.
Loved being able to have a campfire 🔥
Will definitely come again 100%
Disliked It's a basic site, but the composting toilets were the cleanest we've ever seen, in nice sheds with a sink. Much better than a chemical portaloo. There was plenty of places for drinking water and the site was kept very clean by everyone
It's a shame we could only stay one night but if we had more time we'd have to go somewhere with hot showers.
Definitely a, warm weather place, as it's out of the way.

Liked Wonderful owner, Suzie, who made us feel very welcome.
She couldn’t do enough for us.
We camped next to the Beck, so it was lovely for the dogs to paddle in.
Facilities were clean and did their job.
