  • Spacious site within Blakemere Village shopping and recreation centre
  • Microbrewery, falconry displays, adventure playground and restaurant
  • Within half an hour's drive of Chester Zoo and Blue Planet Aquarium
Sit back and spend some quality time together at Blakemere Touring Caravan Park, set in the central Cheshire countryside. Warm and friendly, and with excellent facilities to match, this spot has exactly what you need if you want to relax with your favourite people. A bus stop with convenient routes to Northwich and Chester is a short stroll from the site. Together with Cuddington train station, 25 minutes’ walk away, there’s also access to the lovely market town of Knutsford and the historic city of Chester. Calling all archers… also potters, shoppers and falcon fans… for Blakemere Touring Caravan Park is also in a prime slice of the countryside adjacent to Blakemere Village. This attraction has a shopping centre housed in a block of converted Edwardian stables, alongside a miniature railway, and may be the only village where you can saunter from an archery range to an antiques market, or slot a falconry display alongside making and painting your own mugs. If you’re peckish, there are many great places to eat and drink in the village, which includes pubs, a coffee bar and several artisan food outlets. Barbecues are allowed for those who want to dine outdoors. Pick up provisions from the farm shop just a five-minute drive down the road and do your chopping, grating and dicing in the food prep area. The kids might be so chuffed with the adventure playground that they offer to do the washing up… Dogs are welcome: the adjacent Mersey Forest makes a fine venue for walks with canine companions and there’s a tap to hand for the cleaning off of muddy paws.

Gold fully-serviced gravel caravan site

Liked: Shower blocks were great and well looked after. The on site staff were really friendly.
I liked that the Cheshire outdoors had things you could do, although some we wanted to try quite pricey, £35 each for an hour on the Segway.
We found the low ropes a simple and fun activity.
The craft shop was also good and able to do sand art, painting or decoupage at a fair price.
30min drive to both Chester centre and Cheshire oaks which we visited during our stay.

Disliked: I wasn’t overly impressed with blakemere village with small fun fair or the pub. We ate lunch here which was not good and very over priced, even with the 20% off you get given as a tourer.
Everything also closes by 5pm unless it’s a Friday or Saturday night so not much to do in the evenings.
There were also lot of rules, no ball games allowed, even on the large grass area next to the play area/park.
No walking across the grass or cutting through pitches.
The road/track on site was gravel so my daughter didn’t like using her scooter. I felt this place would be great for young children, mines 10 so probably a bit past the best suited age group.

From the manager: Thank you for the feedback. I will pass on your comments to Blakemere Village.
Unfortunately, we have to have rules in place as customers do get understandably upset when people cut accross thier pitch or footballs hit caravans. This is the reason we have a large football field for all our guests to use away from caravans/motorhomes opposite our reception area. We are sorry to hear you won't be visiting again, but thank you for recommending us to friends.

Silver powered gravel caravan site

Liked: First time visitors. Great facilities and site layout. Lots to do to keep the children entertained (4 & 8). Lovely woodland surrounding. Spaced out pitches. Friendly and helpful staff.

Disliked: Lots of gravel on the pitches and missed the feel of grass to sit on. If we come back we’ll have to bring a bigger rug. We booked a silver pitch in the paddock and the children were filthy from scuffing in the black tarmac like gravel. Good job the showers were lovely!

From the manager: Thank you for your valued feed back.
We are glad you enjoyed your stay depite the gravel. You are free to use the green grassed large area in the paddock to sit out. We have recently re surfaced our gold pitches with pea gravel so you are more than welcome to book on one of these pitches if you come again. As well as the childrens play area we also have a large feild with football nets that all our guests are welcome to use, whether this is to play games or have picnics etc.
We are glad you liked the showers and hope you will return.

Silver powered gravel caravan site

Liked: Level pitch. Surrounding woods. Secure dog field.

Disliked: Expensive. Laundry expensive. Kids playing ball where signs say not to, then balls hitting our van. Locked in till 8am. Water taps hard to turn the lever on.

From the manager: Thank you for your valued feedback. We are sorry to hear you had some dislikes on your stay with us. Unfortunatly , although we do try to police the children onsite and have plenty of signage around, we can't always catch them in the act and direct them to the dedicated football field at the front of the park.
As we are primarily a family holiday park we do have to lock the barriers from 10pm until 8am for security reasons and quiet time as people don't like to be disturbed too late at night or too early in the morning. In an emergency situation there is an emergency only phone number and the on call wardens would assist you out of the park if needed within the above hours.
The water taps are pressure assisted and can be rather stiff so you may have been better on one of our fully serviced pitches where you would have had your own normal tap and are able to leave a hose attatched for the duration of your stay.

Liked: Our plot was very spacious with sun all day, we were in the paddock which we really liked. The nicest shower block, clean, warm and more than enough showers for how the site was occupied. Great location with good walks and close enough to public transport
Friendly and helpful welcome with a small shop with enough to put you on until you can get to a supermarket

Local attractions

With Blakemere Village containing days'worth of stuff to do and see, no-one would blame you for staying put and savouring it all... if you do fancy venturing further afield though, Cheshire is chock full of options... Perhaps the on-site birds of prey aviary and falconry displays have piqued your interest? If so, take a trip to Chester Zoo and its underwater equivalent, the Blue Planet Aquarium (both 25 minutes’ drive), for encounters furry, fanged and cute. For a closer look at wildlife, Wood Lane Nature Reserve and the nearby Fenn’s, Whixall and Bettisfield Mosses (50 minutes) draw birdwatchers and walkers in search of avocets and herons, adders and flesh-eating bog plants. If that sounds a bit alien, beetle over to Jodrell Bank Discovery Centre to take a look at the universe through the Lovell Telescope, or travel back to 13th-century times at Beeston Castle, both 25 minutes away. Don’t forget rock and pop history at The Cavern 50 minutes away in Liverpool, along with the Tate gallery, the busy waterfront and the ferries across the Mersey…
