  • Simple grass pitches at a Northumberland farm with coast views
  • A 10-minute drive to Bamburgh; 15 mins to Northumberland National Park
  • Peaceful dog-friendly rural location with easy access from the A1
Coastal sunrises, cattle for neighbours and castles to visit… you’ll get a real sense of the Northumberland countryside when you stay at North Bellshill Farm Campsite. Tucked away in a peaceful rural spot and yet only a couple of minutes’ drive from the A1, this place makes a great base for either a quick stopover or full weekend spent exploring the Northumberland countryside and coast. Pitches are part of a working farm with a quiet rural atmosphere and lovely uninterrupted views over to the coast – a splendid mix for a bit of chilled-out downtime. How you fill your time while you’re here is up to you – Bamburgh is about 10 minutes’ drive away for beach days, games of golf and castle tours, and there are plenty more lovely beaches and spectacular castles just a little further along the coast. Inland, you could spend the day exploring popular Alnwick Castle, or seek solitude in the Northumberland National Park – as the UK’s least-visited national park, it’s a fabulous place for a quiet hike away from the crowds, or a spot of stargazing (its remote location makes it the largest Dark Sky Park in the country). That said, you may simply choose to chill out on site, perhaps lighting up your barbecue or building a campfire for a relaxed outdoor evening. Pitches here are nicely spacious and dog-friendly, and you can bring extras like gazebos and awnings to make your space more comfortable (just add them as extras so you’ll have space). Simple facilities include toilets and a washing-up area but please note there are no showers or drinking water taps.

What customers say

Right by the A1, this pop-up site has killer coastal and castle views. Folks love the helpful staff, easy check-in, and neat mowed pitches. It's peaceful, clean, and good value. More loos would be ace, but the current ones are spotless. Dog-friendly with fire pits – a top spot for a chill escape!

Unpowered grass tent site

Liked Quiet field down a country lane. Bamburgh Castle visible in the distance. Good value at £15 per night. Petrol station nearby where you could get supplies (wine, beer, bread etc).

Disliked Extra charge for second dog. Don’t understand why. Portaloo toilet ok for one night. One of them was out of action (not pleasant). Not many level pitches. Water supplied onsite is not suitable for drinking, so be prepared with bottled water if you want to make a drink.

Liked Easy check in, nicely kept area, friendly staff. They text everyone to say we could check out later than planned due to rain which was very nice. Also a great price for the local area

Disliked Only one portaloo but it wasn't a problem, and was clean and tidy

Unpowered grass tent site

Liked Clean field and ideal for the tent the pitches were freshly mowed peacefull and quite just what we needed

Disliked No fault of the owners but guests arriving at 10.30pm to put tent up carried on till midnight awaking myself and my 6year old grandson with flashing torches and no doubt waking other guests policy says 3pm to 8 pm arrival ( WiFi didn’t know it had any )

Recommend to friends Visit again

From the manager: I am glad you enjoyed your stay and that you got in touch during your stay to let us know about the disruption. Due to the rural location WiFi isn't offered.

Unpowered grass tent site

Liked Lovely hidden little campsite just off the A1, and only a 15/20 minute drive to wooler, seahouses and Berwick. Kids loved the whole weekend

Disliked Could maybe benefit from a extra toilet but not the end of the world.

From the manager: Thank you Jamie, there is another loo arriving on site very soon so hopefully if we see you again this will be there 😊
