What customers say
Great spot near Runswick Bay and Cleveland Way. Clean facilities, friendly staff, big pitches, and a good pub. A few mention the uphill trek from the beach, some shower temp issues or wind. Highly recommended, well-run site.

Nice clean site, friendly and clean facilities.
Unpowered grass campervan, tent or trailer tent site
Liked This is a lovely, clean and well maintained site. The owner was friendly and polite when we arrived - bit weird having to pay the balance of our camping stay in cash as they have no card machine (but hey - cash is King!). Facilities were nice and clean - the toile / cleaning block is one building with a good, clean room for washing pots, 3 washing machines (pay extra) and separate toilets / showers. Again, all reasonably clean.
The tent field was big and open, with each pitch clearly marked out. It seemed a bit stony underground - I know its been dry for so long this year but I mashed a few tent pegs as I seemed to hit undersoil stones / rocks quite a bit. Just a minor point.
The site is positioned next to a pub that serves food - can't comment as we didn't sample.
Other than that, all good - would go back again. An easy 15 minutes drive from Whitby and a great position up on the top of the cliffs.
Disliked Beware of the 5 minute walk down to the beach! It is 5 minutes down but more like 20 minutes back! Its a stupidly, steep road down and you have to walk it back up! Not for the unfit or elderly. No-one pointed out that there is a car park down there and I could have taken my car! The gradient must be a 1:5 or a 1:6 or something like.
Also, like I've mentioned above, not having a card machine is weird - its 2025 but no biggie.
Showers ran cold me us, no hot water.
Nothing else really to dislike.

Unpowered grass campervan, tent or trailer tent site
Liked Fab spot with a lovely pub less than a minute away and it’s dog friendly.
Facilities are clean, slightly dated but good.
Good washing facilities including washing machine.
Everyone in site was really friendly, esp a young boy who had caught some Mackerel and was offering them out!
Beach is a ten min walk there, 20 back as steep bank but lots of benches for breaks.
Runswick bay is my favourite place ever so deffo worth a visit.
Disliked Ground very hard so bring a decent mallet!

Great location, nice big field.
Unpowered grass campervan, tent or trailer tent site
Liked Lovely site, changed a lot since we were last here, with the added bonus of a cut through near the pub to save us walking on the main road.
Disliked Noisy camping neighbours - one side of us had tv on too loud & a camping group near us had music on and were drunk & noisy. Not a peaceful experience. But that’s our bad luck, could get this on any campsite.
