  • Well-equipped family holiday park on the East Yorkshire coast
  • Hornsea beach 10 minutes' drive away; 40 minutes to Hull
  • Indoor pool, spa, restaurant and theatre on site
Bike rides, beach days, pool splashing, spa relaxing, fishing, golf, city days, country walks… and that’s just the start of the list of things you can get up to while staying at Skirlington Leisure Park, in a fine spot on the East Yorkshire coast between Skipsea and Atwick. It’s safe to say that, whatever your interests, you’re extremely unlikely to get bored at this family-friendly park, which has both excellent on-site facilities and heaps of things to do in the local area. When you arrive, no doubt the first thing you’ll note is that the park overlooks the coast, so it’s great for a day on the sand or a coastal dog walk (dogs are welcome at the park, by the way). Look in the other direction and it’s all countryside, with plenty of paths and bridleways for easy walks and more adventurous bike rides. Pony trekking, sailing and watersports are all nearby too, and there’s a 9-hole golf course and driving range next door. Being out and about is excellent, but then so is staying on site – leisure facilities here include a heated indoor pool (with a fun mushroom water feature), a fishing lake, a well-equipped gym, a spacious playground and a spa area with sauna, steam room and hot tub. And if you’re a bit hungry after all that, you can either pick up snacks at the on-site convenience store, grab a takeaway from the fish and chip shop or take a table at the bar-restaurant for one of their tasty stone-baked pizzas and a drink or two. Take a look at the schedule for the Pavilion Theatre, too – there’s live music, in-house shows and speciality acts to catch here.

Liked Nice looking site, great club houe pavilion and wonky donkey pub- kitchen, and outside area with giant screen deck chairs etc. Obviously spent some money on this area. Also decent adult entertainment from 9 pm onwards. Sunday market and car boot on doorstep good.

Disliked On arrival our pitch was double booked. Seems poorly organised and definitely understaffed, particularly in regards to food in morning. Having to wait 10-15 mins till anyone even appeared to serve you
Grass touring pitches need marking out on the far end adjacent dog walk. Could mark them out on the curbs in front. Would make things much easier for little effort
Only 2 showers in toilet block and very dated. No motorhome service points anywhere. How are you to get rid of grey water? Also elsan cuboard had no hose or engines en water for rinsing! Very basic necessity, never had this before especially on a site of this size. Like their treating tourers as 2nd class and dont really want you there. Quite noisy at night also till early hours.
Also no access to beach! I do understand how this would be a problem with erosion n such, but seems to advertise the beach as an attraction when it's not.
No wifi at all or phone signal on our pitch.
Borderline if we,d go again tbh.

From the manager: Thank you for taking the time to leave such a detailed review of your stay. We’re really pleased to hear you enjoyed the look and feel of the park, our Pavilion and Wonky Donkey pub, as well as the adult entertainment and Sunday market on the doorstep.

We’re very sorry, however, that other aspects of your experience fell short of expectations. Please accept our apologies for the pitch mix-up on arrival — this is not the welcome we want for our guests, and we will be reviewing our check-in and booking procedures to prevent this happening again.

Your comments regarding the grass touring pitches, showers, and motorhome service facilities have been passed to our management team. We are already looking at how we can better support our touring and motorhome guests, and your feedback is valuable in helping us shape those improvements.

We also take on board your points about staffing at busy times, noise levels at night, and the need for clearer information about beach access. These are areas where we know we can improve communication and guest experience.

We’re sorry to hear that phone signal and WiFi were an issue on your pitch — while coverage can vary due to the rural location, we continue to explore options to improve connectivity across the park.

We do hope you’ll consider giving us another chance to provide you with a much more enjoyable and relaxing visit in the future.

Liked Large pitch for Motorhome
Two for one cocktails 5-7pm
Great priced cocktails
Breakfast in complex loverly
Staff ie behind bar, waiters etc really nice

Disliked Wasps made it unbearable
Breakfast near shop awful
Staff in reception not very approachable
When ask for help on anything all they said was look on the app
Shocking signal ( none) even with my own wi fi
Loud thoughtless campers arguing at midnight packing up and slamming everything
No access to beach

Recommend to friends Visit again

From the manager: Thank you for sharing your feedback. We’re really pleased to hear you enjoyed your spacious motorhome pitch, our two-for-one cocktails, and your breakfasts in the complex. It’s also great to know our bar and restaurant team made such a positive impression during your stay.

We’re sorry, however, to hear about the issues you experienced. Unfortunately, wasps can be a seasonal challenge, but our team is working hard to minimise their impact around the park. Your comments regarding the reception team and the breakfast near the shop have been noted and shared with the relevant managers for review and training.

We also understand how frustrating poor signal and late-night disturbances can be, and we’re looking into both connectivity improvements and how we can better manage noise levels across the park. While direct beach access isn’t currently possible due to coastal erosion, we do provide information on nearby access points and will look at how we can make this clearer in future.

Thank you again for your honest feedback — it helps us improve the park for all our guests. We hope to welcome you back for a more enjoyable stay in the future.

Fully-serviced concrete and grass caravan site

Liked The location is great for accessing Bridlington and Hornsea for great days out.

Disliked Our pitch was located next to the service entrance to the chip shop and convenience shop so quite noisy starting with early morning daily deliveries, strong smells of cooking, etc. bin compound was also close by and rats were seen to the rear of our caravan pitch. Site maintenance vehicles are very noisy with combustion engines, charging around first thing every morning (could be electric) with the site speed limit of 15mph the staff don’t stick to it and some customers don’t either, (no control measures, dangerous for small children).
The redundant rise and fall traffic control ramp system is very noisy banging all day as vehicles drive over it.
The toilet and shower areas are tired and need to be refurbished to a modern style to give a better feel of cleanliness.

Recommend to friends Visit again

From the manager: Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback with us. We’re pleased to hear that you enjoyed our location and found it a great base for exploring Bridlington and Hornsea.

We’re very sorry to learn about the concerns you experienced during your stay. We take feedback like this seriously, and I’d like to reassure you that we are reviewing the points you’ve raised:

We understand how important a peaceful holiday environment is and will be monitoring the area around service deliveries, maintenance vehicle usage, and site speed limits more closely. We are also exploring quieter, more sustainable alternatives for our maintenance fleet.

Your comments regarding the bin compound have been passed immediately to our site management and pest control team for action.

The redundant traffic control ramp has been identified for review to reduce unnecessary noise.

Finally, your feedback on the toilet and shower facilities is very valuable. Plans are already being considered to refurbish and modernise these areas to improve comfort and cleanliness.

We really appreciate your honesty, as it helps us continue improving the park for all our guests. We do hope you’ll consider visiting us again so we can provide you with a much more enjoyable experience.

Liked I was shocked at the park on arrival, I wasn’t expecting the park to be as it is. We loved Skirlington leisure park. The atmosphere was amazing, the Children’s Parks were safe & secure, out door entertainment was great. The onsite shop was very reasonable priced. The facilities throughout the park where clean. It’s just a lovely place. Oh and the market was fantastic. It’s just a lovely site

Disliked There isn’t enough 00% options in the bar
The food from the fish shop wasn’t nice the chips were undercooked even after we where told we had to wait 30 minutes for chips I’d rather have waited 35 & had the cooked a bit better.

Recommend to friends Visit again

From the manager: Thank you so much for your kind words about Skirlington Leisure Park. We’re delighted to hear how much you enjoyed the atmosphere, children’s play areas, outdoor entertainment, and the facilities across the park. It’s also lovely to know you found the shop reasonably priced.

We really appreciate your constructive feedback as well. We’ll certainly look into offering a wider range of 0.0% options at the bar, and your comments regarding the fish shop and chip quality have been passed on to the team. We want all of our guests to enjoy their meals on-site, and feedback like yours helps us improve.

Thank you again for sharing your experience, and we look forward to welcoming you back for another great stay.

Liked All staff friendly ad helpful nothing too much trouble

Disliked Holidays spoiled. By rats scurrying backwards and forwards during the day not just one .was told that this has been reported before so obviously not sorted. Not the cleanest toilets we've been in also noticed one of the ol9der security guy quite openly having a drink in the entertainment part and it wasn't water or squash. Pool shower and toilet insufficient.

We’re very sorry to hear about the issues you experienced during your stay. We take reports of pests extremely seriously and have already been working with our pest control partners to address this. We will continue to monitor the area closely to ensure it is fully resolved.

We also apologise for any disappointment with the cleanliness and facilities, as well as your observations regarding a member of staff. This is not the standard we expect, and we will be investigating this further to ensure it is dealt with appropriately.

Liked We really likes this site. The entertainment was amazing and the kids loved it. Site was nice and clean. Close to Scarborough Hornsea Bridlington so its a good base point. Toilets were clean and the showers were lovely and powerfull.

Disliked The laundry was expensive to use and didn't really clean the clothes that well. The swimming pool is a bit small and has no slides so was a bit boring for the kids. The food although tasty we did have a slight hick up but was resolved very quickly and they couldn't apologise enough and try make things right.

From the manager: Thank you so much for your lovely review. We’re delighted to hear that you enjoyed the entertainment, found the park clean, and that the kids had such a great time. It’s also great to know you found our location perfect for exploring the local area.

We appreciate your feedback regarding the laundry and swimming pool – it’s really useful for us as we plan future improvements. We’re also pleased that our team were able to quickly resolve the food issue and make things right for you.
