  • Peaceful dog-friendly site one mile from the Norfolk coast
  • A 15-minute walk to the Norfolk Coast Path and sheltered sandy beach
  • Dog-friendly pub within walking distance; food shop nearby
Breathe in the fresh sea air at Norfolk Coast Path Camping and Glamping, one mile from the Norfolk Coast. On the outskirts of Holme-next-the-Sea, this four-acre site has sublime views over the sea, the local village and the Norfolk countryside. As the site’s name suggests, the pitches are well-positioned for hikers or cyclists (and their well-behaved dogs) wanting to tackle the Norfolk Coast Path (84 miles long past cliffs, dunes and ancient coastline). Take a 15-minute walk down the road and land yourself in the sheltered cove at Holme Beach. The route takes you past a golf course, in case keen golfers want to bring a golf club along. Once you arrive at Holme Beach, you can carry on walking along the coast until you reach the sand dunes and wildlife trust site at NWT Holme Dunes (40 minutes’ walk). And in the opposite direction, watch the sun go down over the sea at Old Hunstanton Beach (35 minutes’ walk). Here, in Hunstanton (five minutes’ drive), there are fish and chips shops, supermarkets, restaurants and a family-friendly funfair. Ready to refuel? There’s a dog-friendly traditional village pub in the village 10 minutes’ walk away, with outdoor seating in the pub garden for families and dogs to chill out and tuck into a meal. There’s also a food shop five minutes’ drive away, so that you can keep any supplies stocked up throughout your trip.

Unpowered grass and earth tent site (family, small)

Liked Fantastic friendly on site staff. I camped as a female with my little boy before the Sandringham Live concerts and felt safe throughout at the quiet lovely campsite. The local pub and bakery (The White Horse) was great and lovely beach in walking distance. Provided bottled water by staff as the site is still under construction but all in working order. The best experience was they have on site owls and they allowed by little boy to hold them.

Disliked The site provided very clinical/useful handwash and paper towels. To meet the high standards and glamping experience when finished I think the ladies toilets and showers should have spa like Eco-products and an onsite hairdryer in the shower room. This would also be helpful for travellers walking the coastal path that wouldn’t want to carry extra weight.

From the manager: Thank you so much for this absolutely wonderful review!

We are so glad that you and your little boy felt safe and had such a peaceful stay with us. It's fantastic to hear you enjoyed the nearby pub and bakery and our easy access to the lovely beach. We also truly appreciate your kind words about our friendly onsite staff who provided the bottled water.

But the best part of your review for us is hearing about your son's experience with the owls! We're thrilled that he got to have that special moment with them.

Thank you also for your thoughtful suggestions regarding our future facilities. You've highlighted exactly the kind of details we are looking at to provide a high-end experience once our construction is complete. Your ideas for spa-like eco-products and an onsite hairdryer are perfect, and we will certainly be taking them into consideration.

Your feedback is incredibly valuable to us, and we can't wait to welcome you back to see our finished site!

Total disappointment.

Unpowered grass and earth campervan site (no awning)

Liked The location which is very close to the beach.

Disliked It doesn’t exist yet! See photo below. The photos on pitch-up have been staged- the owner actually admitted that when he offered for us to go to his other site near by. One of the photos used for this particular site, has been taken on his other site.

So we went to his other site which was one I avoided booking originally because of the bad reviews about the facilities. We had booked three nights, but left after one.

Facilities on the other site- 3 working showers, 1 mouldy and two not clean with broken shower heads. Washing up area

Grass not cut and pitches too close together. Unkept site with dead plants growing out of dustbins.

I really don’t like giving bad reviews as it’s someone’s business, but to turn up to a field where someone is still painting the toilet ‘containers’ is just so disappointing. We couldn’t get through to the owner and luckily, the nice guy who was painting rang the owner directly. A totally ruined holiday.

Unpowered grass and earth campervan site (no awning)

Liked Nice Flat site, a short walk to a nice secluded beach

Disliked Site services still under construction. At time of visit. No pot wash, drinking water point. Rubbish disposal. Amenities were a construction site cabin with no power which meant only one ladies loo, and one shower that had no light so was pitch black once you shut the door as no window. The cleanliness of the male toilets was poor and there was builders rubbish in there. We were surprised at the state of the site when we visited and how much people paid for a night stay on the site as it is now.
