  • Worcestershire meadow campsite on the edge of the Cotswolds
  • A 10-minute drive to Broadway, and 20 minutes to Cotswold Farm Park
  • Woodland den, walks straight from site; 10 minutes’ stroll to the pub
Fancy a walking holiday or perhaps some time spent exploring spectacular Worcestershire castles? Need to keep the kids entertained? Cotswold Nights Away is a great spot for all this – plus the spirit of adventure that comes with a wild-camping-style break on the edge of the Cotswolds near Evesham. There’s plenty of room on the field itself for impromptu games of football, and adjoining the pitches is a small woodland available for dog walking and family games of hide and seek. A den sits among the trees, kitted out with a sofa and boardgames to keep everybody entertained. The local village of Ashton under Hill (10 minutes’ walk) has a pub and food delivery service, and the mellow-stone Cotswolds village of Broadway (10 minutes’ drive) is packed with indie shops and delis for barbecue supplies. If you fancy eating out, there’s a destination restaurant there as well as plenty of traditional pubs to choose between. Basic facilities on the open camping field include a well-maintained shower and toilet block with a washing-up station, plus ice-pack freezing and a communal fridge. Firepits are available for use, (no charge) and thoughtful onsite extras include flowerpots full of herbs for guests to use on their barbecues.

Unpowered grass tent site

Liked: We stayed on a Friday. Lots of space to pitch. Plenty of things to explore for the small kids. The woodland den is fun.

Toilets were clean and tidy.

The Star Inn up the road is lovely.

Basic but nice and relaxed.

Disliked: The road noise from the A46 is significant. Perhaps it was because I stayed on a Friday night, but I was woken up many times in the night by noisy lorries.

Unpowered grass tent site

Liked: Amazing selection of toys and games for the children and room for dogs to be on long leads.
toilets are great, lovely a clean and really quick response time for any issues.

Disliked: The main road is quite loud, but that is no fault of the site itself.

Liked: Everything about this campsite. The location, great walk to the nearest pub/cafe. Lovely meeting the locals and the sheep in the field behind.

Lots of great play toys for the children and football and tennis nets for the older kids.

We'll definitely be returning. A lovely tranquil place to unwind.

Toilets were kept lovely and clean and always well stocked with loo roll.

Disliked: Nothing

Unpowered grass tent site

Liked: Lovely space to play, perfectly adequate and very clean facilities. The play equipment is rustic but that's imo what camping is about (it is a woods and field after all!). Good location. Don't be put off by the rustic look of the toilet/shower block from outside, it's very modern and immaculate inside! 15min field walk to local pub well worth it!

Disliked: Could do with a strimming around the water tap area as children wouldn't help fill up as large stingers by it! People mention the road noise, tbh the only time we noticed it was when nodded off at night and in total silence, I was expecting it to be far worse from other reviews!

Liked: We loved the site. It’s unassuming but lots of things for kids to play with on site - our kids are late primary school age and they loved the bikes etc to play around in the field. The facilities we clean and well kept.

Unpowered grass tent site

Liked: Large pitches, laid-back site, loads of space and lots to occupy children, fridge and freezer, bikes were a nice touch.

Disliked: Nothing. There are only 2 toilets and 1 shower but this didn't cause any issues on a bank holiday weekend.

Unpowered grass tent site

Liked: We loved borrowing the bikes. So handy for making the trip to the loos when you’re camped at the opposite end. We liked the freezer. The relaxed feel. The flat ground and short grass. The fire pits. The space. The toys. The free pitch and put. The ping pong. The tennis area. The clean and tidy loos. The walk to the pub. The pub. The walks around the hills.

Disliked: There was a bit a traffic noise but only a problem if that kind of thing bothers you.
It was a bit untidy looking in places.

Liked: Well maintained flat site. Non-electric pitches are not marked so you can just pick a nice spot. Facilities were clean well maintained.
Didn’t use the Den or toys/play areas but my kids would have loved it. Loads of fire pits available.

Disliked: Nothing
