  • Scenic park on the river Witham, 10 minutes' drive from Tattershall
  • A 35-minute drive from Lincoln and 15 from Tattershall Farm Park
  • Playground, river fishing, waterside walks and pub-restaurant on site
What a lovely Lincolnshire location this is – dog-friendly Riverview Caravan Park’s location on the banks of the Witham river is a mighty scenic place to spend a bit of time… You’re on holiday, so you’d be quite justified in deciding to settle down right there by the river for lengthy periods in the company of a book and/or picnic. Keep that view in sight by heading out for a waterside walk or launching your own paddleboard or kayak from the boat jetty too. Keen to go fishing? The site has one mile of fishing along the river Witham, all set just 20 metres from the pitches. The on-site fishing is known for tench, carp and big bream weighing up to seven kilograms, as well as its fortnightly competitions. A modern gym is on-hand for those times when you feel like fitting in a good workout. For families, there’s a playground as well as an indoor pool (open during high season only) where they can play about whatever the weather. If they (or you) are plane fans, they may like to know that RAF Conningsby is a short distance away with a World War II museum. Fighter jets and the occasional Lancaster fly overhead, so it can get a bit noisy (especially during the week) but settle down for your own personal air show and enjoy the sights. When it comes to food, the on-site pub and restaurant is likely to be your go-to. Serving up homecooked food, it has a beer garden overlooking the river along with local entertainment such as singers, bingo and karaoke. On Saturdays and Sundays, it serves a full English breakfast, and on Sundays, there is a Sunday roast up for grabs. It also has a kids' menu. For out-and-about times, local town Tattershall is less than 10 minutes away by car and Lincoln city centre around 35 minutes.

Camping pod

Liked: Thank you to phill and his team for a lovely stay in the pod. Phill was very friendly and explained everything to us. The pod smelt lovely and fresh and clean when we arrived. The pod has electricity and fridge kettle and toaster. Bed allready set up for us. Used the swimming pool and bar. Nina from bar was so welcoming to me my daughter and dog and introduced us to some friendly locals. Being on my own with my daughter I was made to feel very welcome. The drink prices were great. Very nice quiet site with a family run feel about it. We will be back. Thanks Sarah

Powered grass caravan site

Liked: Site has potential but at the moment the touring site is undergoing a big upgrade, making a tarmac road around the site and re- grassing, should be nice when finished. Facilities ok but only 2 showers for each sex and probably not enough if the glamping pods are well occupied. Found facilities quite dirty on a number of occassions as they were being used by the workmen with muddy boots, also they didn’t care if they used the male or female. As a result of this we were accomodated on a unused pitch on the static part of the site. Caravans seemed very close together and many seem to be residential occupied by workers. Site has a bar which looked nice and well furnished, plus a swimming pool and a small gym which looked neglected and untidy. We found the owner/manager very nice and he phoned us before arrival about the mess on the building site, so we could have cancelled if we wished, but we were meeting friends so we were fine to stay. I think the new management will eventually make this a lovely site but have quite a bit of work to do yet. The setting is lovely right by the river with nice walks along it’s banks. Would I stay again, yes, as I thing they will make the site very nice

Disliked: As mentioned above, the building site is a mess at the moment and they still have a lot of work to do to make the site nice, but it has great potential

From the manager: Hello Ian thank you for your lovely and understanding review
Please say hi to your friends that arrived and mored up there amazing 60 foot electric borrow boat
We did let him charge his batteries up free of charge

Would you beleave it been a bit of a journey with our touring park up grade
With 18 new hard standing pitches acesse rring road to all pitches and hard standing parking places for the pod
It's finish . Today
Just a bit of cleaning to be done
Our problem is lack of rain as we just layed 2000 SQM of turf but with some water management it's looking amazing
But I must say the park is looking amazing
Please take advantage of the free week end
The caravan park has only (statics) 55 plots with no age limit there a good sense of a community spirit
But we're can you find such a small beauful park with it own pub pool restaurant some of the best river fishing .karioke and bingo over the week end

Look forward to seeing you again in our finish park people say it's the best in Lincolnshire now

Camping pod

Liked: Area is nice lovely walks
Friendly greeting nice friendly host
Site was clean
The pods were alright and great for price paid ..
The price was cheap

Disliked: When we arrived the reception was a room packed full of junk locked up with a faded bit of paper with a number to ring on it to get the owner
It was way too overpacked with caravans dangerously between Pods they were having work done which aparently wasn't finished on time ... should have cancelled some people instead of packing them in ...
The facilities were extremely poor the toilet block and washing up facilities need an upgrade, theres was 1 working shower in the ladies and a huge queue in the morning to just get a shower no toilet paper anyhwere on site ......
The food truck power kept tripping
The club house was busy and very rowdy atmosphere and very unorganised.. the bar man couldnt keep up and electric kept tripping inside the clubhouse ..
In the morning again there was not one toilet paper on site we walked the site looking for a member of staff as did many others and couldn't find one person on site At all ... the clubhouse was locked up and sick all outside... the caravan people were all rallying around to help out us pod people be able to use the toilets ...
By this point we had had enough and packed up to leave along with many others doing the same that morning abandoning our second night
We left about 12.30/1pm just as the owner made an appearance in his car back onto site
By then it was too little to late for us ...

Local attractions

Having viewed your own bit of the river, it’s likely that you’ll be enticed into getting out for a walk – especially when you learn that there are a couple of riverside pubs nearby. There’s more strolling to be done in Tattershall Lakes Country Park (five minutes’ drive), plus the chance to get a bit of watery activity at Just Wake wakeboarding centre. Take off to Tattershall (around 10 minutes’ drive) for a wander around Tattershall Castle – a proper textbook castle with a moat and 15th-century tower to potter around. Just outside town is Tattershall Farm Park (15 minutes), where egg collecting, sheep shearing and hanging out with hairy Highland cows are likely to meet with approval from tiddlers (and quite probably their elders too…). A day out in Lincoln (35 minutes) must surely be on the list – it’s got a real slice of history, being home to one of the four original copies of the Magna Carta. You’ll likely feel like you’ve stepped back in time if you catch a film at Kinema in the Woods (15 minutes) too: the flicks have been running since 1922 here, and there’s still a resident organist to provide the tunes.
