  • Quiet site on a Leicestershire field 10 minutes’ drive from Hinckley
  • Mallory Park or Bosworth Battlefield Heritage Centre 10 minutes’ drive
  • Seasonal produce in the farm shop; breakfast and lunch available
Leicestershire bound? Perhaps you’ll end up at Bradshaw Farm, a site on a working farm situated between the two rural villages of Stapleton and Dadlington, with Hinckley 10 minutes’ drive away. Pitches are on a nicely level field, and there are simple shared shower facilities. Every last weekend of the month (Friday, Saturday and Sunday) and on bank holidays, the site has a range of wine, beer and spirits for guests to buy. There’s also a well-stocked farm shop across the road, where you can pick up seasonal fruit, veg, fresher-than-fresh organic produce and home-grown plants; you can order a hearty cooked breakfast and tasty lunch there too. If you’re looking for a decent selection of pubs and restaurants to try, Hinckley (10 minutes’ drive) is the place to head for; you can top up on any other supplies from the supermarkets while you’re there. In general, this place is a fine choice if you want to get away for some R&R in the countryside. On the other hand, it may not be quite so peaceful on the weekend of July 17–20, when a gathering of the UK’s best tribute bands will be playing at Leicestonbury music festival on the farm, just across the road from the camping field.

What customers say

Good value, quiet spot with roomy, flat sites and ripper hosts. Bell tents are a good deal. Facilities are basic (one shower, portaloo), but most found 'em clean enough for the price. A few said the loos need a spruce up. Rural location & helpful owners are big pluses, with many keen to head back.

Unpowered grass site (pet friendly)

Liked Everything, They had a small music festival this weekend which was marred only by the awful weather. However the attendees didn’t let the weather dampen spirits. Music was good, thoroughly enjoyed listening and singing along from the safety and dryness of my tentZ ashamed to say I wasn’t brave enough to go out into the elements. Still loved it and nothing better than the sound of rain on your tent. Very relaxing. Richard and Wendy were their usual hospitable selves. Really recommend this place. Will definitely be visiting again very soon. Love it here.

Unpowered grass site (pet friendly)

Liked Lovely wide open space, allowing you to pitch as you please. Owners were very friendly, having the farm shop right there is also really convenient. I turned up and found out there was going to be a festival the following day so stayed an additional night. Had a great time! Shower and toilet facilities were clean. Campsite had a lovely safe and friendly vibe. Mobile reception was pretty decent for relatively remote location. An absolute bargain at £10!

Disliked Can’t think of anything I disliked.

Bell tent (six person, basic)

Liked The owners were friendly and the bell tent was clean. Really loved the idea of being able to turn up to the campsite and not put a tent up without having to pay a fortune

Unpowered grass site (pet friendly)

Liked There is plenty of space and its flat so no need for levelling ramps.
The shower was hot and functional. No timer or push buttons.
The owners/staff were very friendly and checked in on site.
Easy to access from main roads. Passing places on B road.

I have rated the stars to agreeing with what was offered on the description.

Disliked I am putting this here because customers read the reviews and I am certain some are the litter fiends who destroy the countryside.

I don't know how any any campsite resolves customers who do not read the signs or have the common decency to clear up after themselves.

Selfish customer evidence was available in the portaloos and the field edge where they had dumped food waste.

Unpowered grass site (pet friendly)

Liked - Very friendly welcome onto site :) Hayley explained the facilities available and advised someone would always be available near the farm shop entrance if we needed anything
- We had the choice of pitching up essentially wherever we wanted on the field!
- Extremely peaceful
- Only 7 minute drive to nearest supermarket so was able to grab whatever bits we needed during our stay away and fuel for the drive home
- Loads of lovely walks and attractions nearby including Twycross Zoo

Disliked - No Negatives :)

Bell tent (six person)

Liked We booked the glamping tent and we had such a wonderful time. Tent was so clean and spacious, we had electricity and was provided with lights, beds, brand new and clean bedding , toaster and kettle . We also had a picnic table outside . The owners were lovely and we was looked after by a lovely lady called Hayley who went out of her way to make sure we had everything we needed . We can’t wait to come back!

From the manager: Thank you for your positivity, it was lovely to meet you all. Hayley sends her best wishes. It will be a pleasure to welcome you back

Unpowered grass site (pet friendly)

Liked Basic but priced accordingly. It was near hinkley which is where I needed to be the next day. They do offer a few basics from the small
farm shop such as eggs, bacon, milk and bread. Friendly welcome.

Disliked 2 Portable Toilets where just plonked in the middle of the field. Water point not easily signposted so had to ask other campers where it actually was.

Recommend to friends Visit again

From the manager: Hello anonymous, there are actually 4 portaloos onsite, two in middle of field for easier access for non electric grass pitches. Water supply is easily seen at entrance. Farm shop supplies lot more than you listed. We do Icecream, chocolate, sweets, bbq items. Bbqs, salad, veg, cold drinks etc and there is also a bell in shop to press for attention. Thanks for review and glad you enjoyed

Local attractions

When golf is your game, you’ll be pleased to know there are several courses within about 20 minutes’ drive of the site. For watching high-octane pursuits like motor-bike racing, you’ll have to catch the right day at Mallory Park Racing Circuit (10 minutes’ drive). Take a waterside stroll in Market Bosworth Country Park (10 minutes), or learn more about the notorious battle of 1485 on guided walking tours at Bosworth Battlefield Heritage Centre (also 10 minutes), where the kids can dress up as knights for the day and there are occasional weekend enactments of fiercely fought medieval battles. If you’d like to know more about the infamous King Richard III, whose remains were found in a Leicester car park, visit his royal tomb at the King Richard III Visitor Centre (40 minutes). Still in the city, you can clamber aboard rockets at the National Space Centre, and let off steam in East Street Lanes bowling alley (both make great choices for any rainy days with the offspring).
