Μου άρεσε: We (2 adults and 2 children) have thurally enjoyed are time here.

We had a lovely welcome to the site by the manager and his daughter who showed us round. We did see them every day and were always so helpful. It was really nice as all the children got on so well and loved seeing eachother to play.

We loved the rustic back to nature feel of the sight that was tucked away surounded by trees. The long grass between pods and yurts gives plenty of privacy whilst still hsving a lovely communal feel with a central area for cooking, fire and play area with hammocks. We opted to use
the bbq, fire pit and seating area next to the yurt.
We had plenty of visits from a local cat who was very friendly and the children loved.
Its a great family get away in school holidays but could also make a nice couple get away as well.

We stayed in one of the yurts which was spacious and cozy. The bed was very comfortable and it was nice to have bedding, blankets and towels available all made up ready. We did take are own towels for beach visits. The yurt is really nicely designed with furnature that has been well thought out for multie use to ensure its not over crowded. There was a heater we didnt use but also hot waterbottles if you felt the chill. There is everything you need but we did take extra icepacks in a named ziplock bag but there were a good amount to go round. There were also plenty of power packs and found them very good and enough for us. The site is solor powered so keep in mind of your wanting to charge quite a few elecrtical items you may struggle. Phone signal is excellent on EE. There are padlocks on the doors so everything is secure when your out and about.

The yurts have an outside toilet sink and shower which work amazing with hot water. Its quite the experience but is designed very well with full privacy. We were also offered the use of an inside shower if needed. My partner did use and said it was really nice.

The sight location is great for a walk to the beach and a nature reserve walk not far. Very simple to hop on and off the island to the may shops using a car.

Μου άρεσε: Loved the cosiness of the cabin, and the fact there were powerbanks provided to charge devices like mobiles while staying there, and also the fact that there were cooler boxes with a supply of ice packs to use to store any food products.

Μου άρεσε: Every detail has been thought of in terms of how the pods were kitted out (except salt - that would be really helpful!). The battery pack was totally sufficient for 2 nights for two people including charging a phone and a watch; we saw lots of people swapping their packs but not sure why as we didn’t need to. The water was hot, the bed was comfortable and the pod was warm at night. There’s no WiFi but we both had mobile signal (Vodafone and O2) so it didn’t matter. All in all it was great!

Δεν μου άρεσε: Not a dislike, more of a warning. As others have said it’s a bit of an unusual location as it’s in the middle of a housing estate. It’s a drive to anywhere (except the local beach which our dog loved) and the local pub needs to be booked for Sunday lunch as it’s popular and we were turned away. Also there’s not a lot of space between each pod so the site does have a bit of a communal feel - not a problem for us as we were out a lot but it’s maybe not everyone’s thing. Also, there weren’t many ice packs in the freezer - we were only able to get one for the whole two days but we didn’t have a lot to keep cool so we managed.

Δεν μου άρεσε: I wished I had read reviews closely before booking. Simply speaking there are no accessible woods, it is a small inaccessible scrubland area with some trees surrounded by a housing estate. The solar power barely managed one poor light bulb for an hour and a half. There were no redeeming factors at all. I left the following day to stay at a hotel.
This is NOT a campsite, it reminded me of what i can only think a refugee camp would be like.The accommodation was very dirty on arrival.
The pictures are not accurate and paint it to be something it is not.
Please if you are a family i would highly recommend you look elsewhere maybe Silverdale or Keswick.
All in all DO NOT THINK THIS IS A CAMPSITE!!

Regarding the solar power issues, we are sorry to hear about the problems with the lighting. We are looking into this matter to improve the reliability of our solar-powered amenities had this been mentioned at the time we have a call out team to correct such issues.
Cleanliness is a top priority for us, and we are concerned to hear about the condition of the accommodation upon your arrival. We have already addressed this with our cleaning team to ensure such an oversight does not happen again.

Μου άρεσε: I love this site and this is the second time I've been here. It's so peaceful and well placed for me to visit South Walney Nature reserve. This was the first time in a yurt and although it's very lovely inside and equipped with everything you need the outdoor shower was not for me, obviously a personal preference. You do have use of a bathroom inside West Point House so you don't go without if outdoor bathing isn't your style. I will be back but unfortunately not in a yurt
