Damside Campsite

Positiv: It’s a lovely place to stay. We only booked for one night we liked it that much we dropped the kids home to grandma and we come back for the night. The toilets are so so clean the owner comes last thing at night to clean and restock. She even puts kitchen rolls in case you want to clean up after yourself. It’s a great place to wake up. We was able to hire a fire pit and buy logs 🪵 just nice to end the night with a good old fire. The owner is absolutely lovely she would help you with anything thanks damside 🙏

Positiv: The toilets were nice and clean and regularly looked after by the site staff

Negativ: Wouldn’t come to this campsite with small children. Was very disappointed with the amount of sheep poo all over the field. Not good when you have a toddler who can pick it up and get it in his eyes and falls down in it. Also disappointed with on the site saying the park was a short walk away, which it was not. It was a long way with a toddler in a pram.

Positiv: Lovely location. Very rural however within driving distance to main shops. Owners friendly and helpful

Negativ: Toilet facilities need emptying more frequently. More field space available would make it easier when site busy

Positiv: The area is beautiful. Picturesque scenery as described.The lady who checked on with us was friendly and welcoming. This site is not particularly a family site as no amenities close. Lovely level area to pitch up and bins to use.

Negativ: The pub and park was not a 10 minute walk. Took us close to an hour as opposed to 10 minutes as advertised (with pushchair). Wouldn't advise walking there with a young family as we had to walk on the road the majority of the way due to lack of pavements.
Also only one tap and we witnessed people washing out their camping toilets- then people filling up drinking bottles from same tap. It needs a separate tap for drinking/cooking. Portaloo kept clean.

Positiv: Beautiful setting, great price and everything was very smooth and straightforward

Positiv: We arrived at around 17:00 and was able to pitch up where we liked. The park was clean, tidy and the toilet was also clean and had plenty of toilet roll.
The park was quiet and all guests seemed lovely.
We were greeted by the owner and asked if we were OK.

Lovely campsite.

Positiv: Everything! The views, level pitch, clean ports loo and lovely friendly owner. Close to limestone way. Picturesque 40 min walk to pub or more directly along the road. Fantastic pies.

Negativ: Nothing.
