Châteaux aplenty, vineyard visits, canoe trips and general pottering around in scenic surrounds… all the classic components of a Loire Valley hol are within easy reach of Huttopia Camping Rillé, a couple of minutes’ drive from the teeny village of Rillé.
Settle in for a stay here and you’ll quickly note the peaceful surrounds – trees are all around for a bit of shade and the site borders the Étang de Pincemaille, for watery views but also a little beach a very short walk away.
This family-friendly site runs a busy programme of activities in summer for all ages – by day there may be treasure hunts, outdoor games and other fun stuff for kids in the mornings, or organised family excursions such as orienteering, vineyard tours or waterskiing lessons. As dusk falls, the social whirl continues into the evening – canoeing as the sun sets, perhaps, or an open-air movie night, or a live band...
Tennis court, table tennis, a pétanque court, a pool and a sizeable sun terrace are also on site, along with a playground handily set next to the pool and bar terrace. Indoors, there's a cosy central building with a woodburning stove and plenty of board games, books and a TV area.
The restaurant is open all day for meals, to have indoor or out on the wooden deck. Hankering after a bit of a picnic on your pitch or in your fave little spot around the site? Restaurant staff will gladly sort you out a pizza to go, and you can order bread and pastries for alfresco mornings too.

Lokale seværdigheder
The lake next to the site fab for messing about in boats, which you can hire on site from the collection of canoes, kayaks and pedaloes. A little further along the shoreline is a bird sanctuary that’s home to around 250 species; watch out for birdwatching events in the summer organised by the Ligue de Protection des Oiseaux.
Just five minutes’ walk up the road from the site is the main station for the Rillé railway, where you can take a steam train tour through the surrounding forest. If you’d rather explore under your own steam, there are plenty of walking trails nearby, or you can hire bikes on site to pedal along the area’s many cycle routes.
Châteaux are dotted about the locale – Langeais, Villandry and Saumur are all about a half-hour drive away and there are several more within an hour or so (enough garden wanderings, gorgeous interiors and kid-friendly activities to fill days on end should you wish).
