Lake views and luxury accommodation – doesn’t that sound rather lovely? Well, this is what's on offer for guests at EuroParcs Ossiacher See, on the southern shore of Lake Ossiach, about a mile from the centre of Ossiach town. This gorgeous holiday park has been cleverly designed to make the most of its fabulous location, with excellent views available from every corner of the place thanks to its built-in terraces. How you experience the scenery is very much up to you – you may like to chill out at the lake beach’s relaxation area, or run along the jetty to leap into the cool water for a dip. There's also a lakeside play area to entertain any kids that don’t share your enthusiasm for putting your feet up and taking in the views. And beyond all this, of course, are plenty of places to get out for fresh-air activities like hiking, cycling and watersports (or skiing in the winter months). Whether you stay put or get out and about, you’ll be able to come back for a meal in the on-site restaurant, or pick up bits in the food shop to knock up meals in your chalet’s kitchen (which has a cooker and microwave as well as a kettle, coffee maker and fridge). Each chalet also has an ensuite bathroom, a TV and an outdoor seating area. Towels and bed linen are provided to help you keep your packing light, and there’s air conditioning and heating to keep the temperature just right in all weathers.

Lokale seværdigheder

Once you've enjoyed a glimpse of the views from the site, you'll surely want to get out for a closer look at your Carinthia surroundings. Various activities take place along the lake shore, including waterskiing and fishing, and mountain bike trails start just behind the site as well. For a bigger challenge, how about tackling some of the long-distance Alpe Adria Trail, or going paragliding from Gerlitzen (20 minutes' drive)? Summer guests can also ride the 760-metre toboggan run (10 minutes' walk away) or get up into the trees at Familywald Ossiacher See (three minutes’ drive), while winter visitors can hit Gerlitzen’s slopes (half an hour) for skiing and snowboarding. Time to slow things down a bit? Take a stroll around the pretty city of Villach (20 minutes) or head to historic Klagenfurt (40 minutes) for the day. Affenberg Landskron's monkey park (15 minutes), Schaubergwerke Terra Mystica & Montana’s underground park (35 minutes) and the delightful Minimundus are all good options for a family day out.
