Solway Holiday Park

Syntes om Brilliant place we loved it. All the staff were really friendly and helpful. The site was very clean and all amenities were modern and well tended to. We were camping and it was lovely and quite nice showers and toilets with free drinking water tap. Indoor swimming pool which was lovely and free passes were issued for the stay couldn’t ask for more really and will go again for longer with my grandchildren as lots of great activities for youngsters I could not fault Solway it had everything.

Syntes om Absolutely loved our camping weekend at solway holiday park, There was 11 of us all together and they were very accomending. Manged to pitch our tents together, sat us all down in the pub at last minute. Staff couldn't be more helpful they always spoke to the children as well. Evening entertainment was brilliant. Lots to do on the site. Indoor pool was lovely and warm. Will definitely be back for a longer stay next time so we can get more exploring done.

Syntes om Location was good, you could walk on the prom which was nice and flat and over looked the beach. The park was nice had entertainment for families on evening ect, small supermarket, restaurant and fish shop, pizza takeaway, indoor pool

Staff did respond to noise complaints.
Staff tried their best to keep the toilets clean (despite how poorly some guest left the facilities).
Swimming pool dated (modern changing rooms though) but fine, pool water is warm, lifeguards are very proactive.

Syntes ikke om Pitches are smaller than expected and not well spaced out. Despite website saying no pup tents and not gazebos, there were loads on site and no one told to removed them. Loud music played late at night past 11pm! Only two washing up sinks, for a large site.
Food on site was awful, worst battered sausage I have ever eaten.
Food is very over priced and shop onsite is very expensive.
Location is far from any of the main places to visit. Most places are at least an hours drive away.

Syntes om There is plenty to do with children on the site, arcades, classes at an additional cost and sport cages (tennis) but not much free space to have a kick about or fly a kite.

Syntes ikke om We had booked for a 4 night stay, when booking it asks what pitch size you want, this information is not passed onto the poor chap who assigns the pitches to the guests arriving. He had to drive around to find a pitch that was suitable for our tent size. On the website it states that there is a minimum of 3 metres between pitches, again not the case, the first pitch we had been given had about 1.5 metres between the tents. The 2nd pitch had about 2.5 meters (legal requirements is 3 minimum).
The swimming you are given an hour a day if you arrive in time to book this the day prior.
The facilities are ok and the domestic staff have their work cut out! 3 out of the 4 mornings going to the toilets people had been sick in multiple cubicles (on the floor) when talking to one of the domestic staff she felt sorry for the families that have to bring children into the toilets due to the conditions selfish people had left them in. We had a young child with us and I would go in to establish which toilet was safe for her to use.
They have a late night disco in the entertainment complex, please be warned that this music can be heard far away. Our pitch was about a 7 minute walk from the complex and it could still be heard at 3am.

Bring a long electric hook-up cable as the ports can be quite far away.
