Estuary View Escapes

Syntes om Fantastic, no frills site. Stunning location with estuary and beach access. Great for hikers and bird watchers. Very peaceful. Lovely portaloos and handy picnic tables by each pitch. Great hosts, Louise and Lea.

Syntes om The views are amazing. Wonderful very pretty portaloo. Louise, the owner, was great. She was so helpful and attentive as to whether we were alright. The site is basically a flat, open gravelled area which used to be the pier of the local Millom ironworks which was very big when in operation and is on the edge of the Duddon estuary. 5 pitches each with a picnic table. The tide goes out to reveal a wide sandy area with plenty of birds and then it comes back in quickly to fill uo the estuary. Short walk through the nature reserve to a nice sandy beach which can continue round to the breakwater at Haverigg with the sea on one side and a lagoon on the other. Rather windy while we were there so we moved to a more sheltered location. A very pleasant relaxing time and lovely views across ro the the Lake District fells, including Scafell although in the clouds at the top.

Syntes om What great place this is for a small number of campervans, the views are spectacular. The site itself is flat, right next to the estuary. It is on the coastal path for walking, so quiet and peaceful !

There are exceptionally clean portaloos, grey water facilities and a fresh water tap.

Dogs are allowed on site, and we found all owners to be responsible keeping them on leads.

We found Louise to be really helpful and communicative.

Local takeaways delivery to the campsite gate, but some may want cash.

Longer stays you would probably want shower facilities, unless you have them in your van.

Syntes om Lovely quiet place right on the estuary front. Nice, flat space with plenty of room. Toilet facilities were great and well maintained. Location fantastic, very peaceful and right on the coastal path so great for long walks. We walked to Silecroft along the beach, quite a long walk but we'll worth it then you can get the train back which is only 5 minutes then a shortish walk from Millom station. We were blessed with excellent weather over a 2 night Fri-Sun stay. Also, Internet signal was really good, no wifi but managed to watch sports on TV with no buffering or signal drop. Overall, fabulous.

Syntes ikke om Guests who arrived late Saturday with two noisy dogs barking and they put off a quieter couple with a small dog who moved away. Not cause for complaint, we've stayed on a few sites with unruly kids and lazy parents.

Syntes om We had a wonderful stay at Estuary View Escapes. It’s a lovely small site – peaceful, quiet, and with absolutely stunning views across the estuary. The location couldn’t be better: just a five-minute stroll takes you onto a golden sandy beach, and there are plenty of great walks nearby which our dogs loved.

Practical things were spot on too: mobile phone signal and TV reception were excellent, which isn’t always guaranteed in more remote spots. The site doesn’t offer WiFi, but honestly, that just added to the relaxing atmosphere.

I have to mention the facilities – don’t be put off by the idea of portaloos. They were by far the cleanest and best-maintained I’ve ever come across, checked regularly and always in great condition.

What really stood out though were the hosts, Louise and Lea. They were so welcoming, friendly, and genuinely helpful, which made the stay all the more enjoyable.

If you’re looking for a quiet, scenic getaway with fabulous hosts and the beach on your doorstep, Estuary View Escapes is a hidden gem. We’ll definitely be back!
