We mean real football, aka Gaelic football, aka GAA – the Kerry fifteen of its GAA team is the most victorious in Ireland north and south, taking home the Sam Maguire cup more than any other team. We exaggerate. (A little.) It’s not all about the football. It’s about the scenery too. Camping in Co Kerry will have you close to Killarney, its national park and the Lakes of Killarney are among the most beaut and most visited places in Ireland – go here for salmon and brown trout fishing, boat trips, Ireland’s only herd of red deer and scenery that will make your eyes water. On the Kerry coast, drive, hike or bike along the 179km Ring of Kerry including the Kerry Way, then dally for an afternoon to gaze mistily out over the Atlantic from Dunmore Head on the Dingle Peninsula, the most westerly point in Ireland.
