You’ll be close to hiking routes in Minnewaska State Park Preserve (10 minutes' drive) and the Mohonk Preserve (20 minutes) while Witch’s Hole State Forest (10 minutes) also has some gentle circular trails leading to a waterfall. If you want to up the adrenaline buzz, rock climbing and camping go hand in chalky hand. There’s cool climbing in the Shawangunk Mountains (The Gunx, 20 minutes) and at Sam’s Point Area of Minnewaska State Park Preserve (25 minutes). And for a real step outside your comfort zone, why not fix yourself up with a parachute jump at Skydive The Ranch (30 minutes)?
