Batteries starting to run low after a few months without a break? Let Espacio Finca Alegría come to the rescue. This family- and dog-friendly site a 20-minute drive from the historic port city of Cartagena, in the Murcia region, is a hub of rest and relaxation. It is run by two yoga instructors, Rocío and Rubén, and unsurprisingly, activities like yoga, meditation and energy therapies take centre stage here. There’s no obligation to join in, of course, and if you want to just chill poolside and catch up on your reading, you’re very welcome to do so. Oh, go on… maybe just a massage to ease those aching muscles. Fancy a day at the seaside? (And by the way, if you don’t have your own transport you can rent a car on site – by the hour or by the day.) Playa de Portús is only 15 minutes’ drive away, with its sheltered beach and calm waters where you can snorkel, have a go at paddleboarding or go on a kayaking expedition to places like the Cueva Neptuno sea cave. If you prefer to be on terra firma, there are lots of hiking trails in the nearby Sierra de la Muela, Cabo Tiñoso y Roldán nature area (15 minutes), where you might catch sight of falcons and eagles soaring high, plus wild boars and foxes. The store on site sells locally grown organic fruit and vegetables, plus eggs, cheese, bread and whatever else you might need for your barbecue. (And wine and beer, in case you were starting to worry.) Other amenities include a toilet block with showers, a washing-up area and a launderette.

Liked: On-site shop and somewhere to eat, clean toilets and showers, pitches were spacious and level so not on top of each other, in the wilderness so nice to walk dogs, little town really close and also close to Cartagena.
Hire car available for people with large motorhomes.
Although quite busy was very quiet with respectful campers.
Very relaxed and laid back.

Liked: Netter kleiner Platz. Waschcontainer alt, aber meistens relativ sauber, ein neues Waschhaus gibt es auch. "Draussen" große Parzellen auf Schotter, "innen" ein paar Bäume, kleinere Plätze auf Schotter. Wasser und Strom am Platz. Kleiner Laden mit örtlichen Bio-Lebensmitteln, Restaurant (bissl unterbesetzt), unbeheizter Pool = sehr kalt. Massagen, energetische Heiltherapien , Yoga, Meditation, Kajak, paddle SUP, Tauchen, stundenweise günstige Autovermietung werden angeboten. Frische Baguettes werden jeden Tag selbst gebacken. Waschmaschine und Trockner vorhanden
Weit ab vom Schuss, viele Wanderwege, Radfahren gut möglich in 10 bis 15 Minuten alles mit dem Auto zu erreichen. Bis zum nächsten Strand sind es vielleicht 15 bis 20 Minuten.9

Disliked: Strom hat bisschen Zicken gemacht.

Das eine Sanitärgebaude (Mobilheim) in die Jahre gekommen.

Pool leider unbeheizt sehr kalt. Solarheizung wäre sicherlich eine Option.

Überraschende Angebote, Massagen vor Ort. Die echt sehr sensationell war.
Tolles Essen, große Auswahl.
Aussicht ist sehr schön.

Disliked: Zufahrt ist mit größeren Fahrzeugen eine Herausforderung.
Toiletten und Duschen nicht so toll. Aber für die Lage akzeptabel.

Liked: Warm, friendly helpful staff & owner, peaceful environment, good cafe/bar nice pool, large shaded pitch with fruit trees, v dog friendly. I liked the fact that we could hire a car for the day - very helpful for those with motorhomes.

Disliked: A pretty minor thing but i would have preferred more lighting in the toilet block/washing up area esp at night.

Route directions

Use Google Maps to avoid the route passing through Avenida de los Pinos, as it is not a good road. The best route is the path that begins from 'Caravana's Home'. First, go there and, then add 'Espacio Finca Alegría' into on Google Maps. For public transport, take Line 6 to the final stop; the site owners can pick you up there if arranged in advance.

Local attractions

Parque Tentegorra (15 minutes’ drive) is an adventure hub with ziplines and treetop walks, plus an aquapark with water slides (and a pirate ship in the middle of the children’s pool). There’s also a playground with a giant slide and picnic areas complete with barbecue stations. When in Cartagena, check out the Roman amphitheatre, overlooked by the ruins of an old cathedral on one side and the hilltop Castillo de la Concepción on the other. The Civil War Museum has displays on this dramatic period in Spain’s recent history, or you can head to the Naval Museum on the harbour. Built in the mid-1930s in a mock-medieval style, the Batería de Castillitos (45 minutes) perches high above the sea at the tip of the Cabo Tiñoso headland. In addition to the huge guns (fired only once during the Spanish Civil War), there are far-reaching coastal views.

Admission

All guests spending the night at the park must present their ID at the reception desk and sign registration forms.
Under 18s must be accompanied by their parents or legal guardians.

Arrivals and departures

Late arrivals must notify the park as soon as possible. Your booking will be held for 24 hours. After this period the management reserves the right to relet your unit.
No refunds/discounts for inclement weather, late arrivals or early departures.
Units will be allocated on arrival.

Changes to your holiday

Bookings cannot be amended within 2 day(s) of arrival.
Modifications are subject to a €5.00 (£4.23) fee.

Pitches

Pitches: a €20.00 (£16.93) deposit is required on arrival and will be refunded on departure when returning the gate badge/barrier pass/toilet keys.
Units should not be left unoccupied unless previously agreed with the management. Please speak to reception when the need arises, a fee may be charged for unsupervised units.
You must follow the management directives when pitching your tent/unit and related equipment.
