Galician beach break anyone? When you choose to stay at FozCamp, a quiet, well-kept campsite on the Paseo Marítimo de Foz, five minutes’ walk from the edge of Foz, you have the choice of several beaches on which to languish, be it the surfing beaches at Llas (five minutes’ walk) and Rapadoira (20 minutes), or the famed Playa de las Catedrales (20 minutes’ drive) punctuated by spectacular sea arches. Lined by colourful hydrangea plants, the neat grass pitches sit under the partial shade of olive and palm trees, close to a small play area with swings. The whitewashed central hub of the campsite contains handy amenities such as a washing machine, dryer, bathrooms with baby-changing tables and hot water in the showers, as well as a reception and a licensed terrace café for snacks and drinks. If you’re sticking with self-catering, barbecues are allowed on site, but you also have the option to meander along the Paseo Marítimo de Foz into lively Foz with its gourmet restaurants and vibrant nightlife. In addition, the campsite is a handy stop on the Camino de Santiago, offering a comfortable and peaceful spot for pilgrims to rest up and re-energise.

Liked: Such a well cared for site, large grassy pitches, sea views, spotless and excellent facilities, lots of places to visit from here. The best part , the wonderful owners who provide lots of local knowledge and work so hard to make for an enjoyable stay. Excellent.

Liked: The hosts - very friendly and made us feel welcome. Walked around the site with us so we could choose the most suitable pitch.
The facilities are modern, clean, with super showers.
Free Wi-fi excellent.
The location is fantastic with a sea view vista.

Liked: The camp site has a wonderful location, within easy walking distance of shops, supermarkets, cafes and restaurants.
The beach is very accessible, with a Camino (walk) by the road.
All required facilities at the campsite, and when there is a problem Mara and her partner are more helpful than can be believed.
Whilst there is no on site cafe/restaurant an evening drink on the verandah, overlooking the small bays/coves is idyllic.
Recommended restaurant was outstanding too!
I had a problem with my bicycle and help was organised first thing in the morning!
Nothing was too much trouble for the on site team.

10 mins walk into Foz town.

Disliked: Weather, what this jet stream is causing..

Liked: The campsite is clean and tidy with really friendly owners who were so lovely and helpful. Really close to a quiet beach and only a short walk into Foz town.

Facilities to wash and dry clothes and not too expensive and a bar that stays open into the evening with a range of local wines and cheeses which were delicious.

Disliked: Was a little windy during our trip but not something that could be helped being close to the coast and in May

Liked: Good location overlooking the sea with a short walk along the rugged coast to the restaurants and shops. Spotless facilities, plenty of hot water. Friendly and informative couple with a warm welcome. Definitely recommended and we’ll aim to stay again

Local attractions

Llas (10 minutes’ walk) and Rapadoira (20 minutes) beaches are known for consistent and varied waves suitable for all surfing skill levels; several schools offer lessons and gear rental, and there are surfing competitions all year round that bring in the big names of the sport. You can also hire canoes and kayaks to paddle along the rugged coastline, speed things up on jet skis or go scuba diving in crystal-clear waters to discover the rich marine life of the Lugo shores, while anyone into sport fishing can join a local boat trip or try their hand at catching supper from the beach. Moving back on to dry land, explore pretty seaside Foz (15 minutes) on foot, or cycle along the Paseo Marítimo de Foz to admire Bay of Biscay views along the Galician coast. Pack a picnic and stop off at the sweeping stretch of sand at Playa de las Catedrales (20 minutes’ drive) – be sure to take your camera to snap the dramatic sea arches on the beach.

Admission

Admission is only permitted after registering at reception.
All guests spending the night at the park must present their ID at the reception desk and sign registration forms.
Under 18s must be accompanied by their parents or legal guardians.
Unsupervised minors must have a letter of authorisation from their parents or legal guardian.

Arrivals and departures

Late arrivals must notify the park as soon as possible. Your booking will be held for 24 hours. After this period the management reserves the right to relet your unit.
No refunds/discounts for inclement weather, late arrivals or early departures.
Units will be allocated on arrival.

Changes to your holiday

Bookings cannot be amended within 15 day(s) of arrival.
Modifications are subject to a €15.00 (£13.01) fee.

Dogs

Dogs must be kept on leads and supervised at all times.
Guide dogs are allowed on site free of charge.
