You may need a rather large rucksack. For a trip to Alicante's Camping El Torres will necessitate packing for all sorts of outdoor and lazy days, as it's close to mountains (pack hiking boots), beach (swimming kit), Benidorm (party kit) and the rides of Terra Mitica theme park (bring steady nerves and a determined disposition). Camping El Torres is a shaded site on the Costa Blanca, 10 minutes' drive from Benidorm city and the Terra Mitica theme park. Torres beach is accessible straight from the site: you'll have beach views to pitch up among, on a green and scenic site welcoming families, bikers and groups. The splendid outdoor pool should be thoroughly investigated in between days at the beach, mountain biking and Benidorm partying – taking time too to laze around on the loungers outside to top up your Alicante tan. As the day stretches into a long and peaceful evening, have an amble on the beach before strolling back to have dinner at the restaurant or by your pitch via the takeaway service, before settling down for the evening entertainment running during high season. Kids should be properly tuckered out by now after a day at the kids' club, in the paddling pool or at the playground, leaving grownups to sit back, sort a drink from the bar, and settle down to the sight of night falling over the nearby water.

Liked: The pool was decent.

Disliked: The customer service from the two receptionists was AWFUL. We arrived and had to wait 20 minutes before she even acknowledged us(we was the only ones there). Electric wasn’t working and we was asked if we actually needed it. Toilet/showers were how other reviews said, not many available and wasn’t very clean at all. Didn’t try the restaurant but the bar was okay but so expensive.

Liked: Wir fanden den Campingplatz super. Wir hatten Einbußen wegen des Baulärms, aber letztendlich hatten wir das in Kauf genommen, weil der Platz alles bietet. Große Parzellen, Pool, Meer, freundliche Mitarbeiter. Wir kommen wieder.

Disliked: Wir haben selbst zwei große Hunde und sorgen für Sauberkeit. Leider gibt es Menschen, die das noch nicht verinnerlicht haben. Aber, das betrifft die andere Straßenseite außerhalb des Campingplatzes.

Liked: Great location with all amenities 6mins drive away. Right next to the beach aswell. Showers were clean and hot. Will visit again for sure.

Disliked: Only downside was we arrived when a event was on and we couldn't buy a drink at the bar.

Liked: Big pitches on gravel with good facilities and friendly staff. There’s direct access to the beach and the coastal walk to villlajoysa is just beside the site. The site was busy and very lively while we were there so if you’re looking for peace and quiet this maybe isn’t the site for you.

Local attractions

Torres beach is accessible from the site and only a few steps away. It's three kilometres from the shops, restaurants and chocolate museum of the old fishing village of Villajoyosa, the historic and administrative capital of the comarca of Marina Baixa. Villajoyosa is backed by mountains, in a seaside locale where a town has been settled since the sixth century (and variously occupied by the Greeks, Phoenicians, Romans and Moors). It's well worth at least a day's visit, for its three-kilometre length of beach, colourful fishermen's cottages, lively fish market and busy shops: the town's been an important trade point for centuries for the likes of olive oil and wine. Villajoyosa is most famed these days for its chocolate industry, dating back to the late 19th century when local merchants started importing cocoa beans from Ecuador and Venezuela. The main brand to look out for is Valor, but have a day at Villajoyosa's chocolate factory to see as much as you can of the trade, on one of its free tours or a potter around the chocolate museum. Even more famed in the region is Benidorm, the Alicante party town with five beaches, nightclubs and bars galore, and several places to get your theme and animal park groove on, including Terra Mitica and Spain's biggest waterpark Aqualandia.

Admission

Admission is only permitted after registering at reception.
All guests spending the night at the park must present their ID at the reception desk and sign registration forms.
Under 18s must be accompanied by their parents or legal guardians.

Arrivals and departures

Late arrivals must notify the park as soon as possible. Your booking will be held for 24 hours. After this period the management reserves the right to relet your unit.
No refunds/discounts for inclement weather, late arrivals or early departures.

Dogs

A valid vaccination certificate must accompany your dog.
