Do you fancy that Mediterranean coastal vibe without the crowds and noise of busier resorts? Settle in for hols under the Spanish sun at Mediterráneo Camper Area, a family-friendly site five minutes’ drive from the Alicante seaside town of Calpe. On the stunningly scenic Costa Blanca, the site is well placed for watery getaways: it’s a quick 10-minute walk to the closest beach and a five-minute drive to the longer sandy stretch that fronts Calpe, plus there are lots of smaller coves and inlets hereabouts that might give a more private vibe. Calpe is a top spot for watersports too, so dip toes in the ocean for waterskiing, windsurfing, kayaking, flyboarding, diving and lots more. Prefer drier days? The site’s 10 minutes from Penyal d’Ifach Natural Park, which is dominated by the massive Peñon de Ifach rock. There are loads of trails winding through the jasmine and lavender of the park, and the more daring can scale the rock itself for spectacular views and to get closer to the falcons and cormorants that fill the sky. When whole bodies are tired from swims, hikes, climbs and paddles, a retreat to site is highly recommended for lazes under those blue Spanish skies. Barbecues are welcome on site for when dinner is a self-catered affair, and amenities including a washing-up area and a laundry make for comfy stays.

We booked and paid in advance and the pitch was smaller than what we booked.

We were supposed to come in all day but between 2 and 5 no one was available, even i mentioned to be there around 2/3. Guests over there said what is reserved is a chair on the pitch mostly with your name on it.

We looked and looked (were only 4 pitches free) but only one big one as we booked was free So we parked there.

When the absolutely rude Belgian guy who works there was back he almost started shouting that this is not the way it works, and we had to move to a smaller pitch (9,5x4,6 meter , we checked that, and not what is measured on the bookingsite. Sad thing as well i booked a day before but het hadn't seen the mail (yet) and wanted me to believe it just at that time arrived in the bookingsystem. Uhu. Do your work and, check your mail/bookingsystem and absoluely do something about your grumpy mental health. Many people there said its always domething with him.

Its obvious they dont want short stay people, so dont do that, but money talks right? . If you read the negative reviews the guy always answers in an impolite way instead of thinking why that is.

We heard from other people there as well they were not placed on spots they reserved or even after few days had to relocate. The pitches are to small according the rules. Because you pay in advance they dont want a refund which is fine, i can understand that but dont sell things which you can offer, and refund.

A no go, just some greedy b... price not worth. Better take one of the other campersites in calpe.

We paid more than was offered, loads of mosquitos (maybe spray once i a while like overall in spain)

Disliked: We didn’t even end up staying the night. The camping area was not as advertised at all.

Liked: Bonjour, première fois dans ce camping, tout était bien comme décrit. Un très bon accueil à notre arrivée, installations conforme avec électricité, bloc sanitaire nettoyer deux fois par jour. J’ai pris un emplacement sur sol forestier, mais pas de place à l’ombre après pas grave on s’adapte. L’emplacement du camping est super
il y a tout autour.
Je reviendrai l’année prochaine. Ma fille était ravie

Local attractions

If Penyal d’Ifach wasn’t enough nature, there’s plenty more within easy reach: the site’s about 15 minutes’ walk or two minutes’ drive from Les Salines de Calpe, which is a must visit for anyone hoping to spy flamingos or herons, and Serra Gelada Natural Park is 35 minutes’ drive away. A wander into Calpe town centre (five minutes) to explore historical buildings and Roman baths, or trip around the shops, would come highly recommended before turning wheels inland to the small town of Benissa (20 minutes) and its museums, art and culture centre, and scenic Old Town. All a bit too sleepy? The site’s just 30 minutes from the famed resort town of Benidorm… This one will be a sure hit with the kids, who’ll be keen to get adrenaline pumping at Terra Mitica theme park, splash about at Aqualandia waterpark and meet the animals at Terra Natura zoo. Those up for longer treks can make a stop in Alicante, an hour away, to clamber around its castle, learn some stuff at its museums, nab local eats at its spectacular central market, and try luck at its casino. Otherwise (or as well?), stick closer to home base with a tippler’s trip to Bodega Museo Maserof, a winery and museum half an hour from the site.

Booking terms and conditions

Admission

Admission is only permitted after registering at reception.
All guests spending the night at the park must present their ID at the reception desk and sign registration forms.

Arrivals and departures

Late arrivals must notify the park as soon as possible. Your booking will be held for 24 hours. After this period the management reserves the right to relet your unit.
No refunds/discounts for inclement weather, late arrivals or early departures.
Units will be allocated on arrival.

Dogs

A valid vaccination certificate must accompany your dog.
Dogs are not allowed if you are staying in the accommodation units.
Dogs must be kept on leads and supervised at all times.
Your dog must be tattooed or microchipped.

General

Bookings are nominative and non-transferable.
Discount cards and gift vouchers cannot be applied to bookings made via Pitchup.com.
In the event of a complaint, please speak to reception immediately. Complaints which are not brought to the management's attention during your stay cannot be dealt with once you have left the site.
Radio, music and TV players must be kept at a low volume. Car doors and boots must be closed quietly.
The management reserves the right to deny access or terminate the stay of those guests whose behaviour is deemed unsuitable. No refunds will be offered.

Pitches

Pitches: a €20.00 (£16.68) deposit is required on arrival and will be refunded on departure when returning the gate badge/barrier pass/toilet keys.

Reception

Reception is closed from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.. No arrivals are permitted between these times.
Reception is open from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and from 5 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. between 01/07 and 15/09.
Reception is unmanned after 8 p.m.. Please inform the site while on your way there should you expect to arrive after this time, so that the team can provide information about your unit/pitch.

Safety

Barbecues are permitted but must be raised off the ground and attended by an adult at all times.
Open fires are prohibited.

Taxes

This area is not subject to city tax.

Vehicles

No cars/motorbikes by the pitch/unit. All cars must be parked in the designated area.
The car is only included in the rate if you are travelling with a touring caravan or a tent. Cars are not permitted when travelling with a motorhome/campervan.
