A fantastic Costa Brava location 10 minutes’ drive from both Platja d’Aro and Calonge. Spectacular hilltop setting with Med views. Direct access to Cala Gogo beach via mini-train. A waterpark on site. Need any more reasons to book your stay at Campotel at Cala Gogo International? Thought not.
This family-friendly site does have much more to offer though, including modern accommodation spread over the hillside and shaded by oaks and pines. Each unit has a kitchen corner, comfy living and dining area, and private decking.
There’s also free access to the facilities at neighbouring Campsite Sènia Cala Gogo, giving you a choice of five swimming pools (where you can join daily exercise sessions if you like) and nine waterslides for the kids. Playgrounds and facilities for football, basketball and tennis should take care of even the most active of families… if not, head down to the beach to try kayaking, paddleboarding, scuba diving or snorkelling.
Even if you’re not into sport, there’s never a dull moment on site, with kids’ clubs and family entertainment during the day, and in high season a nightly selection of shows, music, acrobatics and magic shows.
Daily life is hassle-free too; stock up on groceries and essentials at the supermarket, or take a break from cooking to surf the restaurants, beach bar and ice-cream shop.

Local attractions
Chances are your first stop will be the beach; lively Palamós (15 minutes’ drive) has a choice of palm-lined sandy stretches backed by a promenade. Kayakers and paddleboarders can get out on the water from Platja d’Aro (10 minutes), while there’s safe swimming from Cala Rovira (five minutes), tucked into a sheltered cove.
If you’re after adrenaline-filled ways to keep teens happy, try the obstacle courses and ropeways at Costa Brava Parc Aventura Platja d’Aro (10 minutes), or the treetop nets at Aventura Park Sant Feliu de Guíxols (20 minutes). Gentle nature walks and a sculpture trail suitable for younger kids are found in Parc dels Estanys (10 minutes), or you can follow the coastal Camí de Ronda footpath to Castell de Sant Esteve de Mar (20 minutes) for spectacular sea views.
Yearning to go to Barcelona? There’s a bus stop outside the campsite. It’s a 90-minute journey to the city, but it’s well worth it to see the spectacular, colour-filled interior of the Sagrada Família cathedral, meander the cobbled lanes of atmospheric Barri Gòtic and lunch on tapas at La Boqueria food market.
