  • Dog-friendly site on a peaceful private estate with a country house
  • Half an hour’s drive from Málaga and Montes de Málaga Natural Park
  • Barbecues allowed on site; 15 minutes’ drive to shops and restaurants
Making the mountains and the Mediterranean your next destination? Half an hour’s drive from Málaga, Montes de Málaga Natural Park and Málaga-Costa del Sol Airport, Finca Colores will put you on the right track. With golden-sand beaches, mountain hikes, canyons, waterfalls and historical sites half an hour’s drive away, or less, this dog-friendly site is well-based for outdoorsy expeditions and reconnecting with nature. It's quiet here, as you might expect from a private estate that’s 700 metres above sea level. As well as having views over the mountains, the location has an outdoor swimming pool that’s open to guests between June and September. There’s a spectacular country house too, a nice nod to the site's former times. With the peaceful soundtrack of the fields and the mountains on site, it’s easy to forget that you’re half an hour’s drive from Málaga and its many beaches, citadels, cathedral and watersports centres. Closer by, Casabermeja (15 minutes) is a smaller town with all the essentials, like restaurants, bars and shops. The owners have dubbed their site a place to rest and enjoy a few drinks in peace, so conveniently, you're free to set up a barbecue. Their other facilities include a launderette and washing-up area. All of that should be just what you need after a day of biking or hiking in Montes de Málaga Natural Park, half an hour’s drive away.

Electric gravel and sand pitch

Liked: Nothing

Disliked: Everything. Bad, no dangerous electricity connection, shower, I asked for the shower to be turned on for next day, not on try to sort out ourselves when we did get it working it was scolding hot or cold, water everywhere gave up in the end, it's a s##t hole, never went back for the second day. If you read this and have a conscious please refund second day. I won't even talk about the road and steep hill to get into the site.

Electric gravel and sand pitch

Liked: Location

Disliked: Using a petrol chainsaw literally 6ft away from my van to trim branch off a small tree. I was the only van on site for 2 nights 1 day, why do this when you have paying guests on site surely it could have waited until I had left.

Dog poop on pitch, if you let your dogs roam on site make sure you clean up after them. ( i have 2 dogs of my own. They did not travel with me on this occasion)

From the manager: Dear! We are always ready to assist our guests with anything they need! it seemed you enjoyed your stay as you booked a second night on site, we were very pleased for that.

As you might have seen we have 12mt long containers on site, turned into tiny houses, so any Caravan within that size can reach us, but if not as we did with you we will bring it up.

The road to reach the campsite is easy and very well mantained pavement road, we send arrival instructions always as google maps sends people to an imposible road, if you don't follow them we understand it can be scary and frustrating, but is very important to follow the instructions.

The caravan turned into bathroom has become a talking point among our guests, some love it and some hate it as you can see in other comments, this is because the upcycling concept that we do at our camp is not for everyone, we always recommend people to choose right accommodations that are more within their expectation and way of living range, we focus on polluting less by using these elements instead of disposing them.

Electric gravel and sand pitch

Liked: Jess and Jose were very welcoming and warm hosts, as well as their staff Enriquez. It’s a beautiful space to camp, with great views and display of stars at night. We liked the eco-concept of Finca Colores: everything is built from recycled materials, including an old camper turned into the bathroom/shower. It’s a chilled vibe with nice people. We enjoyed our stay.

Disliked: As you continue to develop the site, some sun shades for the camp pitches could be a good addition.

It was an absolute pleasure to have hosted you, we really hope you come back sometime, we can enjoy some wine together, it was really nice to meet you.

From the manager: Dear,
We are happy you liked our campsite, unfortunately we are not responsible for other guests personalities, you mentioned you disliked a strange person, its not fair to rate our camping based on a strange person :( its out of the service we provide.

We are very happy that you would recommend to your friends and we hope you change your mind and come and visit us again sometime :)

Hugs,
Jess & Jose

Zambra electric optional gravel and earth pitch

Liked: It has a swimming pool

Disliked: My assessment is unsatisfactory. Despite the friendliness of the three employees, the park is not suitable for camping. It has no shade, no security and does not guarantee the necessary hygiene in my opinion. Maybe it's an option
option for those who have a
caravan, but you have to bear in mind that the only toilet available is an old "recovered" caravan on top of a cesspit, and that you have to pay €5 per person for each shower! Unbelievable!

Recommend to friends Visit again

From the manager: Manuela,
We have been offering parking for caravans and parcels for tents for 3 years now, having a tourist licence that credits that we are suitable for camping, not sure what your expertise is to affirm that we are not.

The caravan turned into bathroom has become a talking point among our guests, some love it and some hate it as you can see in other comments, this is because the upcycling concept that we do at our camp is not for everyone, we always recommend people to choose right accommodations that are more within their expectation and way of living range, can't expect a luxury hotel paying 20 euros per night for 2 people, we clean that bathroom daily. Our luxury is different, we have million stars at night, amazing views, nature and fresh air.

It is well known that we are experiencing the worst drought ever seen in Spain, we need to buy water trucks to be able to supply water to our guests, hence charging for the shower, its a shame that this global information might not have reached you and seems "unbelievable!"

Electric gravel and sand pitch

From the manager: Dear Lea,
We are sorry that you had such a bad experience at our camp, the road is unfortunately not our responsibility and we try to send arrival instructions to all our guest so they can take the most comfortable way, when guests don't read and follow the instructions it can be hard to arrive.

The caravan turned into bathroom has become a talking point among our guests, some love it and some hate it as you can see in other comments, this is because the upcycling concept that we do at our camp is not for everyone, we always recommend people to choose right accommodations that are more within their expectation and way of living range, can't expect a luxury hotel paying 20 euros per night for 2 people.

Zambra electric optional gravel and earth pitch

Liked: Very friendly and attentive staff! Bought us complimentary snacks to pool and allowed us to go up to their house to watch the sunset from the top of the mountain. Lovely pool and terrace area, really well decorated . Bathroom was in a cute 1970s style caravan! Cute dog too! Would recommend!

Disliked: - Pool was dirty, a lot of bugs. I didn’t feel comfortable swimming in it. A shame because the pool area was lovely.

- Lock didn’t work properly on bathroom door.
- We found glass around the pool - however when we informed the staff they cleaned it all right away.
- not a negative for us but the journey up is fairly steep.

Recommend to friends Visit again

From the manager: Dear Katie,
Thank you for staying with us, we are happy to hear that you enjoyed our place.
Unfortunatelly with the heat wave we are experiencing in Andalucía bugs are desperate for water and fall in the swimming pool all the time, but the water is clean.
We hope you visit us again in a less hot time.
Best Regards,
Jess & Jose

Local attractions

Hike to heart’s content… there are four signposted routes around Montes de Málaga Natural Park (half an hour’s drive), including El Cerrado, Pocopán, Torrijos and Umbría de Contadoras. Elsewhere, trace your way around a river gorge and its waterfalls at Charco del Infierno (half an hour) or check out the sandstone rocks and prehistoric cave art on the hike around Las Peñas de Cabrera (20 minutes). A little further out, Caminito del Rey (an hour and 10 minutes) is an exciting hike that tackles reservoirs, mountains, gorges and valleys. If you’d rather stroll straight from the site to an old restored oil mill where you’ll have the chance to pour high-quality olive oil, you might want to head towards Molino del Hortelano (40 minutes’ walk). Just as close by is Torre Zambra (40 minutes’ walk), where there are spectacular views over the mountains. Perhaps a quiet stroll and viewing subtropical plants is your sort of thing too. If so, Jardín Botánico - Histórico La Concepción (20 minutes' drive) will fit the bill.
