  • Quiet nature-filled site 10 minutes' walk from the centre of Grazalema
  • Half an hour's drive to Ronda; 40 minutes to Ubrique
  • In the Sierra de Grazalema Natural Park; swimming pool on site
Staying somewhere that you can be immersed in nature is a wonderful thing, but isn't it a bit of a pain if you’re miles from shops, places to eat and other handy amenities? No such issues at Camping Tajo Rodillo, which manages to be both in the UNESCO-designated biosphere reserve of the Sierra de Grazalema Natural Park and only about 10 minutes’ walk from the centre of Grazalema, making it easy to pick up supplies in the shops or head out for an evening of tapas. Both the natural park and the town (one of Andalusia’s famed 'pueblos blancos’) are very pretty places to explore, and there are plenty of activities nearby too (including kayaking, climbing and horse riding as well as hikes or mountain bike rides). Tajo Rodillo also makes an excellent base for touring some of the other pueblos blancos (including Ubrique and Setenil de las Bodegas) and the pretty city of Ronda. Whichever way you choose to fill your days, in summer you’ll no doubt be pleased to come back to a refreshing dip in the site's open-air pool (which is open from June to September) and some time relaxing in the shade of the trees dotted around the park.

Electric gravel touring pitch

Liked: The site is beautiful. If you want to get away from it all. The views are amazing The town is great.

Disliked: It's not realy for motor homes. Vw transporter and smaller ok. I was only in a 6 meter motor home and it was a struggle getting parked up. I would go back here but only on foot or book a cabin. Definitely not for motor homes. Also I paid a deposit on line with pitch up and they charged me the full price

Electric gravel touring pitch

Liked: Great location for walks into the mountains and down into the village. Reasonable sized pitches. Hot showers.

Disliked: No hot water for washing up. No shower curtain so towel and clothes risked getting wet.

Electric gravel touring pitch

Liked: Location. Surroundings. Tranquil and peaceful. Close to the beautiful village.

Disliked: The washing up area for crockery/cutlery needs work. Only one was really useable and it was quite dirty and I couldn't get hot water. Had to take my cups/plates back to the camper to wash.

Electric gravel touring pitch

Liked: Friendly staff
Beautiful location just above Grazalema village which is stunning .
Very quiet location
Ask for pitch 1 or 2 with a large motor home

A little map with facilities available would have been helpful

Disliked: Access and parking for a 7.5m MH was not easy at all. The pitch allocated was not suitable.
Staff were happy to allocate a different one for us.

Saludos.

Local attractions

You'll want to start with a wander around Grazalema, of course, taking in the cobbled streets flanked by white buildings adorned with gorgeous colourful flowers. Plaza de España is the heart of the town, and the surrounding streets have lots of shops selling local foods and crafts (including the wool blankets that were once the town’s main source of income). Activity organisers in town can help you sort days of things like horse riding, watersports and climbing. If you'd like to set out on your own, there are plenty of hiking trails around and natural areas to explore – some top picks are Llanos del Campo (15 minutes’ drive), which has several marked trails, and Cueva del Gato (40 minutes), where you can hike through karst landscapes and then swim in natural pools. And how about ticking off some of the pueblos blancos? They’re all very attractive places with their own character, so it's worth visiting a few if you can. Zahara de la Sierra (half an hour), Ubrique (40 minutes) and Setenil de las Bodegas (50 minutes) are all great places to wander around, as is the lovely city of Ronda (half an hour).
