Doing a roaring repeat business, Areena Riverside Resort is a family resort where you can all reconnect with nature and where children can wander around in safety. Don’t book in, however, if you’re after video games, cell phones signals and high-security fences. Half an hour’s drive from East London in the Eastern Cape, this is a place to be outdoors, enjoy camping by the Kwelera River and revel in spectacular views of the bush wherever you look. Spacious sites are either well-grassed and shady or sit on cement slabs for a stable base to set up on. More than half of them spread out along the river frontage, and each has an electrical outlet and a barbecue stand with a grid. The numerous sparkling-clean facilities blocks have hot water and are serviced daily. A communal lounge with DStv is available to all guests, as well as a swimming pool, tennis court and a games room with ping-pong and pool. The resort is a bird-watcher’s paradise, with many species to be ticked off the east-coast bird watching list. Activities suited to young teens and adults – from mild to wild – include archery sessions, quad-biking safaris, paintball and zipwires across the Kwelera River. And please don’t miss out on meeting Abby, the semi-tame giraffe who loves to be in selfies and will probably give you a big kiss.

Arrivals and departures

Late arrivals must notify the park as soon as possible. Your booking will be held for 24 hours. After this period the management reserves the right to relet your unit.
No refunds/discounts for inclement weather, late arrivals or early departures.

Changes to your holiday

Bookings cannot be amended within 2 day(s) of arrival.

Dogs

Dogs are not allowed during high season between 01/12 and 05/01.
Dogs must be kept on leads and supervised at all times.

In the event of a complaint, please speak to reception immediately. Complaints which are not brought to the management's attention during your stay cannot be dealt with once you have left the site.

The management reserves the right to deny access or terminate the stay of those guests whose behaviour is deemed unsuitable. No refunds will be offered.
The site is not liable for any refund in the event of force majeure.
