Set between the Ria Formosa Natural Park lagoon and the Atlantic Ocean, this peaceful, eco-friendly site is likely to be a holiday location you’ll remember for a long time… ORLA Ilha de Tavira Ecoglamping is just 150 metres from Ilha de Tavira beach, a stunning sandy beach with clear water and a sandbar. Just to reach the site, you'll need to leave your vehicles on the mainland and board a ferry or aqua taxi to the stunning car-free Tavira Island. As you might expect from the island location, there are plenty of opportunities to plan for swimming or seaside walks. Explore the local area in full: the pine forests, the sand dunes and beach strolls to family-friendly Barril Beach, where there's an anchor graveyard. If you’d rather not walk to Barril Beach, board the tourist train that leaves from Santa Luzia back on the mainland. Take note: the Ria Formosa Natural Park setting is also popular for birdwatching. After the day's activities, you might want to head back to the on-site restaurant, which focuses on fresh, local, seasonal and sustainable dishes. There are other restaurants within walking distance of the site or in historic Tavira, which is just 10 minutes’ drive away once you reach the mainland again. ORLA Ilha de Tavira Ecoglamping has modern amenities and communal spaces, including a playground, a shop stocked with essentials, an outdoor cinema (in summer only), picnic areas and sports courts. Check out the range of activities they run too – paddleboarding, yoga, kayaking and boat rentals can all be organised.

Liked We've loved our stay, the tent is very well equiped, and we've been very comfortable, The island is fantastic, we would repeat!

Disliked Mosquitos! But this is normal in this location, just be sure to bring stuff to fight them. And the fact that the music in the chiringuito nearby was a bit too loud, but it didn't stop too late.

Liked O tamanho do espaço para a tenda

Disliked A sombra no lote pago para tal era inexistente, visto que a lona por cima era esburacada e não fornecia sombra quase nenhuma, no nosso check in tardio o senhor foi super antipátic e inflexível, mal falava português e só dizia não entendo.
O número de chuveiros e casas de banho por balneário eram insuficientes para a quantidade de pessoas hospedadas.

Liked La ubicación, la atención del personal y la limpieza son excelentes! Las instalaciones son espectaculares y el ambiente muy ameno. Hay muchísima iluminación en todo el camping, así que no os quedáis a oscuras, al menos hasta media noche, punto a favor ya que las parcelas no tienen electricidad

Disliked Hay muchos zancudos, es recomendable llevar repelente y mosquiteras. Da igual si reservas parcela pequeña, mediana o grande ya que todas son de acampada libre y no están delimitadas.

Liked A renovação do parque e do restaurante do parque.

Disliked Não terem melhorado os balneários significativamente, as portas tê, outra cor, colocaram lavatórios novos mas continuam os mesmos, pequenos, com pouca quantidade de duches para quando o parque está bem cheio. 2 balneários mais um que não está a funcionar a 100% há anos, não são suficientes para tanta gente.
Terem retirado o serviço de guardar as malas depois do check out, algo que por exemplo quem está com miúdos e tem de levar mais material, acaba por ser super útil para poder aproveitar mais um pouco de praia depois de fazer o check out.
Terem retirado a caixa Multibanco do edifício. Estar numa ilha sem poder leventar dinheiro, numa situação de necessidade é muito incómodo. Para quem já vai para esse parque há mais de 30 anos, sem ter havido um aviso, fomos apanhados de surpresa.
O novo passadiço não tem aberturas para se aceder às torneiras de lavagem de pés, ao longo do percurso. Temos de saltar as cordas.
São poucas as mesas de piquenique que estão à sombra.
Wifi não funcionava.

Liked O parque está bastante organizado e com qualidade.

Disliked O ar condicionado e completamente ineficaz para os bungalows. Tem que ser mais potente e fazer algo quanto a vegetação ou proteção destes ou será difícil justificar o custo da estadia que não se consegue na prática usufruir.
Outra coisa e a vergonha dos valores praticados no supermercado...duas a 5 vezes mais custo para bens básicos não deveria ser permitido. Certo e que os clientes são agora mais abonados mas também estes acham que e uma exploração vergonhosa.

Liked Der Campingplatz ist gut gelegen, sauber, hat viel zu bieten, Restaurant, Bar und Einkaufsmöglichkeiten. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich und vorkommend. Die Insel ist wunderschön. Auf jedem Fall eine Reise wert.The campsite is well located, clean, and has a lot to offer, including a restaurant, bar, and shopping. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. The island is beautiful. Definitely worth a visit.

Local attractions

Back on the mainland and away from car-free Tavira Island is the town of Tavira (10 minutes’ drive). In the historic town centre, there is a Moorish castle where many climb the walls for gorgeous views, along with scenic cobbled streets and lots of restaurants, shops and coffee shops. Continue your tour with a visit to Igreja de Santa Maria do Castelo, a 13th-century church built on the site of a former mosque, or a more in-depth look at the town's history in the Islamic Museum. Some nice activities for later in the day include the traditional Fado music shows at Fado com História or walks over Pte. Romana, a pretty pedestrian bridge over the Gilão river. A little outside of Tavira – and considered ‘hidden’ by many – is Cascata do Pego do Inferno (20 minutes), a waterfall and natural pool surrounded by the typical lush greenery you'd expect from the Algarve region.
