EuroParcs Noordwijkse Duinen: the name says it all, really – at least as far as location is concerned. This large family-friendly holiday park sits within a short walk of the dunes near the village of Noordwijk, and indeed, you can sneak out of the site via a special exit that delivers you straight into the vast sandy landscape. The North Sea beaches are a three-kilometre hike through the dunes (or 10 minutes by car), and Noordwijk itself is a 10-minute drive away. Accommodation is in modern cottages that have all have a well-equipped kitchen (with gas hob and a microwave oven), a living area with comfortable seating and a TV, cosy bedrooms and a bathroom with a shower. Large windows flood these spaces with light and give you a real sense of the surroundings even when you're indoors. Away from the cottages, the kids can (hopefully) tire themselves out in the playground – or you could join them for a splash in the heated outdoor pool or a game of table tennis or giant chess. This being South Holland, the surrounding terrain is fabulously flat, so it's easy to explore the local area on two wheels (you can hire a bike on site). You might also like to spend a day at the beach, perhaps having a go at kitesurfing – this is a popular sport around these windy parts, and there are several outfits arranging introductory lessons.

Liked: Check in nach 17 Uhr mit Email und Code war prima, hat alles gut funktioniert. Wohnzimmer ist gemütlich eingerichtet. WLAN funktioniert!

Disliked: Leider keine Leiter am Etagenbett vorhanden, bei erster Nachfrage „alle Bungalows sind belegt und es ist keine Leiter mehr vorhanden „!? Am nächsten Tag erneut nachgefragt, dann kam ein Servicemitarbeiter um eine Küchenleiter anzubringen! War sehr nett gemeint, jedoch stellte er fest, das wenn man die Leiter am Bett befestigt kann man nicht mehr an seine Sachen kommen die sich im Schrank unter dem Bett befinden. Wir waren mit Freunden in diesem Bungalow, ich möchte mir nicht vorstellen als Familie in diese Lage zu kommen. Wenn ein Kind ganz ohne Leiter nachts aus dem Etagenbett fällt, bzw. wenn eine Leiter nur angelehnt werden kann und wegrutschen kann.!? Das Risiko ist einfach zu hoch und ich finde hier wird auf Kosten der Sicherheit vom Betreiber des Platzes zu Ungunsten der Gäste gespart. Es ist wirklich sehr einfach in allem gehalten. Stöpsel gibt es weder im Bad noch in der Küche/Spüle. Geschirr ist aber für vier Personen nicht ausreichend vorhanden um den Geschirrspüler effizient zu nutzen. Geschirrspüler Tabs sollte jeder mitnehmen, bei uns waren keine zu finden. Ebenso weder Salz noch Klarspüler vorhanden und wahrscheinlich wurde der Spüler beim letzten Gästewechsel nicht aufgefüllt.In der Papiertasche auf dem Wohnzimmertisch waren: ein Bodenwischtuch, ein Spültuch, eine Rolle Toilettenpapier, eine winzige Flasche Spülmittel, eine Schachtel Streichhölzer, ein Müllbeutel und ein Spülbürste.
Die Matratzen sind derart weich, das ein erholsamer Schlaf nicht möglich war. In der Dusche waren alle Wandhaken abgerissen! Man soll nach Anreise bis zum nächsten Tag 12 Uhr an der Rezeption Schäden und Sachen die fehlen melden, was soll man melden wenn man nicht weiß ob es da war (Inventar/Schadenliste)!? Das Inventar sieht schon sehr abgetanzt aus. Wahrscheinlich waren vor uns Gäste mit Hund in diesem Bungalow. Der textile Belag im Eingangsbereich und im gesamten Bungalow waren Hundehaare zu finden. Der Staubsauger stank bestialisch beim saugen und war von der Saugleistung einfach ein Witz. Ich tippe mal, auf volle Staubtüte, aber auch äußerlich machte das Gerät einen derart dreckigen Eindruck das man dachte es wurde zuletzt auf einer Baustelle benutzt. Im Außenbereich konnte man genug Zigarettenkippen sehen, was auf mangelnde Reinigung im Außenbereich schließen lässt. Ein Aschebecher im Außenbereich wäre hilfreich und sprengt bestimmt kein Budget. Die vier Stühle im Außenbereich waren natürlich nicht einheitlich. Leider war der Pool/ Kinderpool mit dreckigen Wasser gefüllt, wenn ich an diesem Wochenende ausgebucht bin, versuche ich dann nicht einen guten Eindruck zu machen? Man hätte das dreckige Wasser wenigstens abpumpen können um die Pools schon mal grob zu reinigen. Oder!?

If your Instagram account is in need of an influencer-style picture of you surrounded by colourful tulips, head to Keukenhof HOLLAND (15 minutes’ drive), where you can lose yourself among vast fields of vibrant bulbs. Tulip season runs late March to late May – so not quite a case of ‘blink and you’ll miss it’, but close enough, so plan accordingly. From a thrilling roller coaster to bumper cars, Duinrell theme park (20 minutes) has rides for all ages (and all levels of courage). And that’s without even taking into account the Tiki Pool, a watery landscape with 21 twisting slides, including the Cyclone, where daring bathers can reach speeds of 60km/h. For year-round attractions, Haarlem (half an hour) delivers in a big way. The city has several interesting sights, starting with the collection of Old Masters at the Frans Hals Museum, the science displays at the Teylers Museum and the 18th-century Molen De Adriaan windmill on the river Spaarne.
