If staying between two historic towns on Morocco’s Atlantic Coast has a pretty nice ring to it, it may be time to pack your bags and make your way to Camping Village Touristique Briech. Just 15 minutes’ walk away from a sandy beach, this family site is grassy, spacious and well suited to a laidback family break. For folk without a car, there is a bus stop just 10 minutes’ walk away with a direct 10-minute connection to Asilah. This pretty town has typical white and blue colonial Portuguese architecture, old ramparts and plenty of cafés and restaurants to choose from. With the aid of a car, you're all set to reach Tangier in 40 minutes along the N1 motorway. This larger city has museums, an old town, tombs and markets. When you're done touring for the day, simply head back and park up in one of the site’s two car parks. There’s plenty to please all tastes at Camping Village Touristique Briech: impromptu swims, a scenic coffee location and tasty Moroccan cuisine. There are two swimming pools on site (one for adults and the other for children), as well as a spa running massage treatments. Take your pick from two restaurants too, one with international dishes and Moroccan cuisine and the other with a terrace overlooking the sea (for the aforementioned scenic coffees…). There's also a nice set of facilities for your everyday needs, including a grocery shop with fresh produce and souvenirs, a crafts bazaar, a theatre, a kids’ playground and a place to play basketball, tennis or football. Breakfast can be arranged, as can activities like dinners, folk music games with snakes and Moroccan dances (all for an additional cost). Dogs are welcome during low season only.

Liked: We love this little site. The staff couldn't do enough for us. You can choose where to park. Great stop for a couple of days heading down south and back up to tangier. The cleaners are always smiling and Showers toilet always being cleaned. Restaurant is really nice. lovely food. You should definitely stop there. They even let is put our fire stick into the TV upstairs in the bat so we could watch the six nations rugby.

Disliked: There was nothing we disliked. But more of advise for you.
WiFi really not very good.
No dedicated pitches. Just pick a spec you like.
No shop near by. However the restaurant sold us eggs and bread. And you can take away the restaurant meals to your van

Liked: I liked everything about it. It is very clean and tidy. Rubbish cleared everyday. The showers are good with plenty of space. Toilets are clean. The floors and tiles shine brilliantly. The swimming pools are crystal clear even in the down season. The restaurant looks very enticing. The staff: Mustafa and his wife are charming, very welcoming, friendly and helpful. The maintenance staff are equally friendly and helpful.

The area is very quiet and relaxing. This place is rightly on the map for all serious travellers.

Disliked: Why aren't fellow travellers more friendly? The English are the worst, they have a mistrusting air about them. Why are they so miserable? Exploring new countries, experiencing new cultures and enjoying the exquisite food should be exciting and fun - open up travellers!

Liked: This place is very much under rated,I have just stayed there for the last two weeks and the people who run this place are absolutely fantastic, the campsite is one of the best and cleanest you will find in Morocco, they have a shop , restaurant with great food and great prices, four swimming pools, and for a small fee will do your washing, the cleaning team and maintenance staff do not stop from morning till night, if you want clean and value for money this place is number one ,

Local attractions

Camping Village Touristique Briech overlooks the Grifha river, so there's plenty of lush vegetation in the surrounding area. Those river views continue on the way to Plage Briech (15 minutes’ walk), the nearest beach – a place with golden sand and umbrellas for rent. In Asilah (10 minutes’ drive), there’s lots to get stuck into for those who appreciate history, from strolling the city walls around the medina to snapping some pictures at Alqamra Tower. North of the site are the Houara Golf Club (20 minutes), the scenic Cap Spartel park (45 minutes) and the city of Tangier (40 minutes). With views of the Strait of Gibraltar, Tangier is a splendid spot for strolling and sightseeing. Shop for spices and souvenirs, try some of the local street food or tick off the city’s many museums and historic sites (which include mosques, tombs and colonial architecture).
