  • Beachfront site between the Venetian Lagoon and the Adriatic Sea
  • A 35-minute ferry ride to Venice from Punta Sabbioni, 6km away
  • Pools with hydromassage; indoor soft play area; restaurant
Check out the pics for a peek at this beachfront site, sandwiched between the Venetian Lagoon and the Adriatic Sea. And if you’re anticipating more from your hols than days and days of lazing around at the beach (highly recommended), Camping Village Cavallino is a short ferry ride from the famed floating fairways of Venice. In the town of Cavallino-Treporti between Lido di Jesolo and Punta Sabbioni, the site is set among a peaceful wooded park of pine and olive trees. And as one might expect from its lagoon locale, it also lies beside a long stretch of beach with fine and gently sloping sands: hire sun loungers and umbrellas for days of sunbathing while the kids get busy building sandcastles. Right in the middle of the site is the lifeguarded pool area, with a hydromassage zone as well as a bigger pool for adults and a smaller one for tiddlers. There's plenty more to do on site for all ages, including pétanque, miniature golf, ping pong and beach volleyball, along with a brightly coloured playground and an indoor soft play area. For your evening leisure time, a dedicated and multilingual activity team will help you get the most out of your holiday with entertainment and shows suitable for all. Right in front of the pool area, the resort’s restaurant serves a wide range of tasty meat and fish morsels, all to be washed down by Veneto wines from the restaurant’s wine cellar. For self-catering options, a well-stocked supermarket is to hand, and fresh breads and fruits and veg are delivered daily.

Local attractions

A little further afield in the other direction from Venice lies the vibrant resort of Lido di Jesolo, highly recommended for its many restaurants, bars and lively club scene, and for its 10-kilometre-long shopping street for those who take retail therapy very seriously indeed… Cavallino-Treporti is a splendid starting point for visits to Venice: catch a ferry from Punta Sabbioni, a speedy six kilometres from base, to be at St Mark's Square in 35 minutes. Trips to the islands of Murano, Burano and Torcello are also an option from the local port. For quieter days out, take a bike ride along the shoreline of the Venetian Lagoon for several kilometres for a pleasant pedal over to Lio Piccolo.
