Spectacular Tuscany location between the sea and a lagoon

There are many fab holiday destinations to pick from around Tuscany, but even in the face of some pretty stiff competition it must be said that this family-friendly Grosseto area site has managed to bag itself a particularly special spot. For this is a rare spot with water on both sides: Orbetello Camping Village sits on a splendid little sliver of land with the Tyrrhenian sea on one side and a natural lagoon on the other. It also happens to be just on the edge of the WWF Oasis of Orbetello nature reserve; even if the wild beasts are proving to be elusive, the views are stunning around here, as the site has vistas of Monte Argentario and out to the island of Giglio. And yet, despite this remote-sounding setup, it’s also handily placed for essentials like shops and restaurants, which are four kilometres away in Giannella or 10 kilometres away in Orbetello; pick up your supplies here or at the site food shop to finish your seaside day with a barbecue back at base (and perhaps a cool beer or few from the site bar…). There’s nothing to say you have to cook, though – if you don’t fancy it, just grab a table at the restaurant or pizzeria. What might those seaside days involve? Well, some time spent on the serviced private beach is a must, as is a good few hours at the swish outdoor pool complex. If you’ve got nippers in tow, perhaps some playground time and a dip into the various kids’ activities laid on for them; those who’ve brought dogs can take them for a run in the exercise area, then use the dedicated dog shower area to hose off any dirt they may have snuffled out.

Liked: Abbiamo sostato nel campeggio 13 notti, in una piazzola camper molto ampia, fornita di elettricità e fontanella dell'acqua molto vicina.
I bagni si trovavano in fondo alla via molto anch'essi, dotati di spazio per lavare le stoviglie,i panni, lavatrice asciugatrice e bagni con docce per i più piccoli.
Spiaggiata privata del campeggio non molto grande ma accogliente, dotata di bar e animazione per grandi e piccini la mattina.
Animazione molto gradevole tutto il giorno e non invadente.
Le piscine anch'esse molto belle e ben curate, per grandi e più piccini, più 3 vasche idromassaggio.
Personale molto gentile e disponibile
Area di scarico camper all'uscita.
Molto attrezzato anche per i cani, con spiaggia adibita, area cani e postazioni di lavaggio.

Local attractions

Yes, you should settle on the beach for quite some time, but you should also get out and about to see some more of the surroundings. The lovely WWF Oasis of Orbetello reserve (next to the site) is a fab place for a stroll, as are the woodland and beach of Duna di Feniglia (10 minutes’ drive) or the pretty seaside village of Porto Santo Stefano (10 minutes). Porto Santo Stefano’s also the place to get sea-bound: hire boats here to potter along the coastline under your own steam, or board ferries to the island of Giglio for scuba diving, snorkelling and stunning beaches. Back on the mainland, take a step back to the past with a visit to the Vulci archaeological site (40 minutes’ drive) or take wanders around pretty towns like Orbetello (10 minutes), medieval Capalbio (25 minutes) and Grosseto (half an hour), home to a spectacular pink-hued cathedral.

All guests spending the night at the park must present their ID at the reception desk and sign registration forms.
Under 18s must be accompanied by their parents or legal guardians.

Arrivals and departures

Late arrivals must notify the park as soon as possible. Your booking will be held for 24 hours. After this period the management reserves the right to relet your unit.
No refunds/discounts for inclement weather, late arrivals or early departures.
Units will be allocated on arrival.

Dogs

A valid vaccination certificate must accompany your dog.
Dogs must be kept on leads and supervised at all times.
Guide dogs are allowed on site free of charge.
Your dog must be tattooed or microchipped.

General

Bookings are nominative and non-transferable.
Discount cards and gift vouchers cannot be applied to bookings made via Pitchup.com.
Entertainment and activities are available between 20/05 and 31/08.
In the event of a complaint, please speak to reception immediately. Complaints which are not brought to the management's attention during your stay cannot be dealt with once you have left the site.
