Wide sandy beach within walking distance

Oh, that beach… and oh, that other beach. Take a minute or two to peruse the pics and you’ll no doubt have picked up daydream fodder to get you through at least a few dreary days at work before you book. Feast your eyes on these gorgeous views for real by grabbing a berth at Camping La Liccia, a couple of kilometres north of Rena Majore on Sardinia’s stunning northern coast. You’ll get glimpses of the sea from various corners of the five-hectare site, and a leisurely walk of 15 minutes or so will take you to one of several little beaches nearby where you can wander through the dunes or stretch out on the sand before diving into that sparkling clear water. Need a more immediate way to cool off? Head to the on-site pool for a swim, or settle on a sun lounger or on a shaded comfy sofa to gaze out over the scenery with a drink in hand from the little poolside bar. The site also has a pizzeria and a bigger bar-restaurant with a shaded terrace and live music during July and August. Also on site are a playground, table tennis kit, a mini market and bikes to hire.

Liked: Man muss den Campingplatz nicht verlassen und hat alles was man benötigt und auch viele Sachen darüber hinaus wie Pool, Pizzeria, Bar. Es gibt zudem musikalische Ereignisse, die den Aufenthalt spannend gestalten

Disliked: Der Strand ist etwas weit entfernt und der Sand ist an diesem Strand von La Liccia etwas grob und schmutzig.

Liked: Il camping era curato e pulito, il personale competente

Disliked: La distanza dalla città con strade strette e pericolose da percorrere in bici.
La navetta del camping, servizio a pagamento, ha disponibilità limitata e passa solo alle 8:00 alle 12:00 e alle 18:00.
Il periodo in cui siamo stati nel camping è stato molto ventoso e l’impossibilità di fare il bagno a causa del mare troppo agitato ci ha portato a cambiare zona prima della fine del pernottamento.
In campeggio abbiamo passato due notti sulle sei che abbiamo pagato, purtroppo non siamo stati rimborsati neanche della tassa di soggiorno e della corrente per i giorni in cui, non essendo presenti, non abbiamo usufruito.
La spiaggia più vicina dista 800 metri a piedi, i sentieri sconnessi non permettono di arrivare in bici e con il maestrale l’accesso al mare è impossibile e la spiaggia piena di alghe.
Le piazzole sono ampie ma poco ombreggiate e con il vento non è possibile ne mangiare fuori ne fissare il tendalino.

Liked: We enjoyed the pool area, the friendly restaurant and bar. Well stocked shop. The beach was very nice.

Disliked: Very limited WiFi. Shuttle bus into town wasn't very reliable we had to get a taxi back to the the camp at €26.

Local attractions

Beach buffs will be in their element round these parts, with several splendid sandy stretches a short walk away. Quiet Lu Pultiddolu beach is a 15-minute walk away, and for a gorgeous white-sand beach with natural dunes, it’ll take you 20 minutes or so to get to Rena Majore. If you’ve got wheels (two or four will do), you can also get up to the coves of Capo Testa or to the surf hotspots around Marmorata. A half-hour drive will take you over to Palau for boat trips to the islands of La Maddalena and Caprera – there are some great hiking trails here and some fab scuba diving in the surrounding marine park. For city wanderings, it’ll take you an hour or so to drive to Olbia; stop by the prehistoric monuments at Arzachena on your way down and then visit the archaeology museum in town – it’s both excellent and free.

All guests spending the night at the park must present their ID at the reception desk and sign registration forms.
Unsupervised minors must have a letter of authorisation from their parents or legal guardian.
