  • Scenic setting between Lake Como and Lake Lugano
  • Hikers' paradise and a popular area for foraging
  • Multilingual staff; bar open on Saturday mornings and afternoons
Come to Como… for truly it is comely. And so is Campeggio ai Colli Fioriti, set right in the Intelvi valley on three hectares of Italian countryside and surrounded by scenic hills and leafy woods: just have a gander at those site pics. Run by amiable and helpful Paolo and Stefano, Colli Fioriti is a family-friendly site, in a mild climate and a lush spot for foraging treats from the countryside in autumn and spring, hiking in the summer and quietly contemplating life, the universe and everything in all seasons. Its modern facilities are grouped around the main building, where there's a reception desk with multilingual staff and an amenities block with a laundry room. The site restaurant (open during high season only) comes with spectacular scenery as well as tasty dishes. There's also a cosy bar (open on Saturdays only, from 8:30 am to 12:00 pm and 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm) with a fireplace, a book exchange, board games and a spacious terrace. An instrument corner with guitars is in the bar too for those who fancy a bit of Como rocking. There is also an on-site shop open during high season only.

Electric optional grass pitch

Liked: The check in was very friendly and helpful. It was a convenient location for visiting Lake Como.

Disliked: The facilities were very out dated (although I have seen in other reviews they are getting refurbished this winter). They weren't very clean. It felt like we were staying on a trailer park rather than a holiday campsite. The onsite restaurant and bar were closed and the nearest restaurant was just over a kilometer away. We walked there and back at night, but the road isn't well lit, so you need a torch.

From the manager: Thank you for taking the time to write a review that is always a stimulus to improve ourselves.
The sanitary facilities are dated as you write that you have already read in other reviews, we are sorry that you saw them dirty you should have reported it to us because as you have surely seen the other reviews praise the cleanliness of the sanitary facilities of the campsite.
I do not dispute your opinion on the campsite which is a personal perception.

Electric optional grass pitch

Liked: friendly owners and a nice pitch for our tent. lovely clean facilities.

Disliked: Do not believe everything you read, guitars had no strings for example haha. On a serious note I have found that most of these sites facilities are not what is advertised. Its very disappointing when you have been travelling all day to rock up and there are no basic provisions for sale when an on site shop is advertised.

Electric optional grass pitch

Liked: The friendly welcome of the owners. Well kept Site in the hills with great views all around. It is equal distance between Lake Como and Lake Lugano so perfect for days at either exploring. The toilet and shower facilities are dated design wise but extremely clean and looked after. They look as new as the first days they were installed, not modern design but extremely clean and functional.

Electric optional grass pitch

Liked: Lovely and clean toilet facilities. Enjoyed the bar and the games room, which was good for playing card games. The location of the site was ideal as we were only a 5 minute drive from a small supermarket and restaurants.

Disliked: A sign with arrows to reception might be useful as it isn't necessarily clear which way to drive when you first enter the site.

Electric optional grass pitch

Liked: Helemaal niks.

Disliked: De staanplaats was verschrikkelijk.

We are sorry that your experience at our campsite was so catastrophic, that you posted your review on multiple sites, making it worse each time.
The toilets are dated but certainly very clean as you can see from other reviews, and they will also be replaced this winter.
The pizza chef was not there but we had some frozen dishes to eat and not even 1km away there is a restaurant/pizzeria.
We are on a hill and with each reservation we send the correct itinerary to reach the campsite easily, as you could see at the campsite we have mobile homes 8m long and 4m wide that were delivered 2 at a time with a trailer truck....
On the website in the description of the facilities there are photos corresponding to the campsite and in the gallery the photos of the area where we are located.
We are sorry to receive negative reviews, if you had spoken to us when you were at the campsite maybe we could have improved your stay.

Local attractions

Campeggio ai Colli Fioriti's Intelvi valley setting is between the lakes of Como and Lugano, in an area stuffed with opps for hiking, hill walking, foraging, canyoning, horse riding and paragliding: if your nerves can take it, this last is a ripping way to see the best of the Como sights. More ripping views can be accessed from the Belvedere hotel in Lanzo, the 11th-century town at the mouth of the Intelvi valley, and at the Balcone d'Italia, the natural terrace on the Sighignola mountain that looks over Lake Lugano towards the Alps and the city of Lugano. Nearby Pigra has cable cars dangling over the valley; again, the views from here will make your eyes water… For a spot of culture, visit the Villa del Balbianello and its famed terraced gardens on the western shore of Lake Como; Villa Carlotta, the 17th-century mansion overlooking the Bellagio peninsula; Lake Lugano villa the FAI estate, and the Sacro Monte di Ossuccio, one of the nine Sacri Monti/sacred mountains in Piedmont and Lombardy that are a dedicated UNESCO World Heritage Site. Monte Generoso, Monte Sighignola, Sasso Gordona and Monte Lenno are all within a short drive.
