Proximity to the sea and daily excursions to Italy’s historic capital are just two of the many top features of this well-appointed site in Rome’s ancient port city of Ostia Antica – and you're right in the Roman Coast Natural Reserve with a stay here too. The links from Camping Village Roma Capitol to Rome are excellent, with jaw-dropping attractions like the Colosseum, the Trevi Fountain, St Peter’s Basilica and the Vatican Museums half an hour away by train (a station is a few minutes’ drive from the site) or 50 minutes by car if you fancy a drive: rent a nippy little electric city car on site to squeeze into the smallest of spaces around the city. Also handily, if you’re there during high season, a shuttle bus to and from Lido di Ostia seaside resort runs throughout the day for sandside family days spent on the Tyrhennian Sea coast. Camping Village Roma Capitol is in a green and peaceful setting in Italy’s Lazio region, covering 26 landscaped and wooded hectares within the protected 916-hectare Pineta di Castel Fusano area, itself part of the smashing Roman Coast Natural Reserve. Among the leisure facilities are three outdoor pools: one big semi-Olympic-sized pool, a relaxation pool and spa area with hydromassage jets and a whirlpool, and a lagoon-style paddling pool for tiddlers to splash around in. Active guests can get stuck into games of tennis, football, basketball and beach volleyball too, and there's a playground on site to further occupy the kids. A covered bar-restaurant is also on site. If you'd rather self cater, barbecues are allowed and the local supermarket is a handy kilometre away.

Local attractions

Take a trip to the nearby coastline around the splendid Lido di Ostia seaside resort, via the shuttle bus running from the site. You can rent sun loungers and umbrellas for lazing-around times, before a tour of the beachside bars and restaurants looking out over the Tyrhennian Sea. The site is within easy reach of several kid-friendly attractions: first off, Wild Village Rome is an adventure park a short walk from the site among more pine woodland, for brave sorts to try tree climbing and lofty ropes courses, while the waterslides of Hydromania and the fairytale-, space- and film-themed attractions of Cinecittà World are all around half an hour’s drive away. Further afield, the rollercoasters and other white-knuckle rides around Rainbow Magicland are around a little over an hour by car.

Especially the beautiful swimming pools.
Great base for visiting Rome

Disliked: As the weather was very hot there were a lot of mosquitoes but not sure we could blame the campsite!

Liked: La propreté des sanitaires, du camping et de la piscine.

Disliked: Camping trop grand tous le monde est dispersé donc contacte entre campeurs difficile. Tous le monde choisi lui-même son emplacement donc attention aux limites des parcelles. Tout est PAYANT 2 transats et 1 parasol à la piscine c'est 15€ par jour!!!!
Ils annoncent qu'ils parlent 5 langues mais c'est faux l'italien oui le reste......
Niveau animation on ne sais jamais ce qui est prévu ni à quel endroit et de nouveau tout en italien et rien qu'en italien !! Début des animations 22h!!!!!

Liked: Staff were very friendly, helpful and very accommodating. The campsite looks as if it’s having a major renovation for the better but did not affect us in any way. The pitch was a good size for caravan, car and awning. The shuttle service from campsite to metro station was only €4 per person each way which was well worth it, as it saved taking the car to try to get around Rome which we do not recommend using the car, let the train take the strain. Two stops after being dropped off, changed trains to colleseum as we found it easier rather than going into central. On return when arrive at the station, called campsite for our shuttle bus to collect us to take back to campsite. Just a few minutes wait. We would definitely use this campsite again and certainly recommend it to our friends.

Disliked: Piazzole poco definite e non livellate, campeggio molto dispersivo e soprattutto lontano dai treni per Roma, quaranta minuti di strada a piedi non è il massimo. La navetta per la stazione, ad esoso pagamento 4 euro a persona, a disposizione ha solo due orari di partenza 8.30 e 11.30 e uno per il ritorno 18.30, il taxi è d'obbligo ed ha un costo decisamente più basso.

Liked: Ausstattung, Lage, Personal, Sauberkeit, ebene Wiesenstellplätze, Ruhe (wenn nicht Flüge von Fiumicino am Platz vorbei geleitet werden), lockere Pinienbepflanzung,

Disliked: 1. Tag erheblicher Fluglärm bis 23 Uhr (wetterbedingte Flugzeugführung?),
kein ACSI-Rabatt, da unsere Buchung nicht direkt über den Platzbetreiber erfolgte, sondern über pitch-up!, deutlichere Parzellierung wünschenswert,
weiter Weg zum Bahnhof Ostia Antica, Fahrrad/Motorroller erforderlich,

Liked: Große Stellplätze und gute Waschhäuser tolle Poolanlagen. Guter Supermarkt und tolles Restaurant.

Disliked: Vieles war nicht im Betrieb wie z. B der Wasserpark. Der Platz war ziemlich teuer 70€ für eine Nacht ist sehr viel Geld.
