Pre-holiday diet? Forget about it. You’re likely to pile the pounds back on at Agriturismo La Petrosa anyway, so make your peace with your bod as it is. This pretty rural Campania site 15 minutes’ drive from Ceraso is part of a sizeable farm estate covering an area of around 50 hectares and filled with olive trees, orchards, wheat fields and veg gardens. Cheese, eggs and meat are also produced at the farm, and are on sale at the on-site shop along with a wide range of fresh fruit and veg, olive oil, jams, fresh bread and other products. If you’d prefer to leave those ingredients in the hands of the experts, head over to the restaurant for a range of tempting traditional dishes, created with produce from the farm and served up with gorgeous views from the open terrace. Best way to deal with any calorie count concerns? Head out for a walk around the park and along the Palistro river which runs through the site; well-behaved dogs are welcome to join you as you wander. Alternatively, you may like to play games of pétanque or table tennis, try out your aim with an archery session or hire bikes to pedal along local paths. After all that, a swimming pool is on hand for refreshing dips and relaxing on the sun terrace (ideally with a drink in hand from the kiosk bar). The site’s also got a small playground with swings and a slide to keep the bambini busy.

Liked Camping silenzioso, intimo, pieno di ombra, attrezzato e con una bellissima piscina.
In piu': eccellente cibo naturale prodotto direttamente dai proprietari, ristorazione servita in terrazza panoramica sul Cilento. Camere da letto e graziosi bungalow in silos.
A pochi minuti di auto dal mare, in posizione centrale per visitare il Cilento a la sua costa.
Rapporto qualità-prezzo: eccellente!

Liked Un posto bellissimo,immerso nel verde, personale gentilissimo e super disponibile. Abbiamo cenato lì un paio di volte con i loro prodotti e ci hanno preparato un menù completamente vegetale. Il campeggio è minimal, ma è pulito e c'è una bellissima piscina circondata da eucalipti. Non c'è bisogno di altro. I bambini, 3 e 7 anni, erano liberi di giocare esplorando la cascina senza pericoli. Perfetta la posizione per visitare sia mare che entroterra. Ci torneremo sicuramente per visitare il Cilento.

Disliked Ci vorrebbe qualche appendino in più in bagno per chi usa beauty e borse ma è una cavolata!

Local attractions

Need to work up more of an appetite or justify a dessert at dinner? The Cilento and Vallo di Diano National Park (Italy’s second-largest park) is a few minutes away by car, and stacked with scenic trails to hike or bike along. For less strenuous strolls, head to the Elea-Velia archaeological park (10 minutes’ drive): some of the buildings here are in remarkably good nick considering they’ve been standing since Roman times. If that’s not sated your appetite for historical wanderings, head north to Paestum (45 minutes) and the mighty Temple of Athena. Cool off after all such endeavours with a swim in the sea at Marina di Casalvelino (10 minutes) or Ascea beach (15 minutes). Make it more of a day out by boarding a boat trip from Marina di Casalvelino, learning more about the waves at the Musea Living Museum of the Sea (20 minutes) or taking a little boat ride around the gorgeous Capo Palinuro sea caves (45 minutes). Scuba divers can get in the water here to explore the caverns that lurk beneath the surface.
