Looking for some fresh territory to conquer? Tenuta Daniele is an agri-camping spot high on a hillside in a little-known corner of Campania, 15 minutes’ drive from the historic town of Montemarano. With a chilled and welcoming vibe, this rural site has pitches partially shaded by trees, and spectacular views across to the foothills of the Apennine Mountains. Whether you’re cycling and backpacking on your way to somewhere else, or a family looking to hang around for a while and get to know the region, the site has much to please all comers. It’s surrounded by meadows and woodland for local walks and bike rides, and there’s a couple of fishing lakes for the anglers among you. Keep kids happily occupied at the playground – and check out the mountain views while you’re there. Chances are when you’ve been there for a couple of days, you’ll adapt to the pleasurably slow pace of life. By day, tuck yourselves under the trees in the cooling shade, buy regional Irpinia produce from the on-site store for leisurely picnic lunches, or pick up supplies from the local village of Ponteromito (five minutes) for the barbecue. And in the evening, head for the bar to share your day’s experiences with new-found camping pals.

Electric grass touring pitch

Liked: Authentic, traditional, tranquil vibe. Basic facilities, but very accommodating host with “nothing is too much trouble” attitude. We would return.

Disliked: The outside swimming pool is closed for renovation

Liked: Stayed 1 night. Daniele has worked hard building this up. There is a bar and he has a cook come when needed. Chemical waste tip down the loo take your own cleaning cloth. Swimming pool being updated but he has supplied a pop up one for now.
Really friendly man.

Disliked: To turn on the rd to the site it's a hairpin bend. We were ok with our 7.5m motorhome. The gate is on the right if not sure stop and ask. don't go down the bottom you can't turn around

Keen cyclists and hikers can head for forest tracks in Parco Regionale Monti Picentini (15 minutes’ drive), leading up to Cascate della Tufara waterfall (20 minutes), the mountain viewpoint at Passo Croci di Acerno (half an hour) or the rocky crags of Terminio (45 minutes). You can also explore the near-deserted trails of this untamed region on horseback (10 minutes), and go wild swimming in Lake Laceno (25 minutes). On more cultural expeditions, walk the elegant cloisters and spy 16th-century books in the monastery library at San Francesco Museum and Convent in Folloni (10 minutes). To sample local wines and gourmet produce, visit vineyards and producers around the hilltop town of Montemarano (15 minutes). For a change of scenery from mountainous to coastal, head for Salerno (an hour), where you can inspect the medieval viaduct and check out ancient Greek and Roman finds in the Provincial Archaeological Museum of Salerno. Alternatively, laze on one of the many sandy Gulf of Salerno beaches, or enjoy a family day on the flumes and pirate ships at Isola Verde Acqua Park (an hour and 10 minutes).

Admission

Admission is only permitted after registering at reception.
All guests spending the night at the park must present their ID at the reception desk and sign registration forms.

Arrivals and departures

Late arrivals must notify the park as soon as possible. Your booking will be held for 24 hours. After this period the management reserves the right to relet your unit.
No refunds/discounts for inclement weather, late arrivals or early departures.
Units will be allocated on arrival.

Dogs

Dogs must be kept on leads and supervised at all times.
Guide dogs are allowed on site free of charge.

Extras

A charge of €1.00 (£0.83) applies for the use of the shower.
Motorbike(s) can be brought instead of the car(s) included.

General

Bookings must not be for more than 30 consecutive nights.
In the event of a complaint, please speak to reception immediately. Complaints which are not brought to the management's attention during your stay cannot be dealt with once you have left the site.
Quiet (afternoon) hours must be respected between 2 a.m. and 3 a.m..
The fishing lakes are stocked with Trote, carpe.
The management reserves the right to deny access or terminate the stay of those guests whose behaviour is deemed unsuitable. No refunds will be offered.
