What a spot for a fresh-air holiday… Bontempo Village La Yole sits in middle of a pine grove, between Saint-Jean-de-Monts (10 minutes’ drive) and Saint-Gilles-Croix-de-Vie (15 minutes), in the Vendée department – and it's a mere five-minute drive (or half-hour walk) from the Atlantic coastline. This is a place where your holiday can be as chilled or as active as you like. You may like to spend much of your time chilling on the sandy beaches of the Bay of Biscay, or grab a sun lounger by the site's outdoor pool so you can catch up on reading between dips. That pool area has plenty of activity too – with aqua aerobics classes, a waterslide and a paddling pool for toddlers to splash in – and there's also an indoor pool (heated to 30°C) for swims on chillier days. As well as a kids’ club arranging sporting, educational and artistic activities, there are tennis and ping-pong courts and a bowling green. Gather the family for basketball or football tournaments on the multisports pitch, or combine physical activity with a spot of sightseeing by hiring a bike on site and exploring this splendid region. In high season (July and August), a lively activity programme includes music, magic shows and quiz nights, so there will be plenty to keep you entertained in the evenings after a meal of local specialities at the on-site restaurant. The site also has a mini market, plus three amenity blocks (with facilities for disabled guests) and a launderette.

Liked: The pool and bar area
The table tennis and bbq area
Loved being able to book a tennis court for free.
It was also great to be able to hire bicycles from the campsite.
A very clean campsite and facilities

Disliked: The bin area being over the other side of the road
The toilet and waste system being raised so very difficult to empty heavy vessels

Liked: Camping très paisible, niveau entretien top les sanitaires sont toujours propres. La piscine très bien. Côté snack/bar qualité mais pas avec un prix excessif, on mange bien. Sur les animations camping elles sont bien pour le publique au dessus de 30ans

Disliked: La fermeture de la barrière a 23h00, je trouve ça un peut juste 00h00 ça laisserait le temps de sortir le soir en temps voulu. Sur les animations ça ne touches pas assez le publique jeune. Manque d’ambiance de la part des animations, c’est dommage c’est ce qui manque)

Local attractions

Yes, there's a lot to do on site, but don't forget to leave some time for outings to places like Explora Parc and Atlantic Toboggan in Saint-Jean-de-Monts, to the adventure trails of Feeling Forest, or to meet the animatronic models at Dino's Park (all within 10 minutes' drive). Of course, there are several gorgeous beaches nearby too, with activities like surfing, sailing and sand yachting – and wildlife-rich salt marshes at Marais salants de la Vie (10 minutes' drive). For a different way to explore, a horse-riding school a five-minute drive away organises rides on the beach or through the marshes. If you like a good bike ride, set your sights on Noirmoutier island (40 minutes), where you can pedal between beaches and World War II defences. For an urban day out, head to Nantes (an hour) to explore the steampunk rides at Les Machines de l’Île, visit the Château des ducs de Bretagne, and (in summer) follow the art trail through the town to see permanent and temporary art exhibits.

Booking terms and conditions

Admission

Admission is only permitted after registering at reception.
All guests spending the night at the park must present their ID at the reception desk and sign registration forms.
At least one of the party members must be aged 18 or over.

Arrivals and departures

Late arrivals must notify the park as soon as possible. Your booking will be held for 24 hours. After this period the management reserves the right to relet your unit.
No refunds/discounts for inclement weather, late arrivals or early departures.
Units will be allocated on arrival.

Changes to your holiday

Changes cannot be made once you have booked.

Dogs

A valid vaccination certificate must accompany your dog.
Dogs are not allowed if you are staying in the accommodation units.
Dogs must be kept on leads and supervised at all times.
