Might you be seeking a fabulous family holiday within easy reach of Vendée and Loire-Atlantique beaches? How about some free fishing thrown in? Pack the angling kit and your most fetching swimsuit for a stay at Camping Le Bois Joli. Your closest beach from here is a Loire-Atlantique one, 20 minutes' drive away at Les Moutiers-en-Retz, and it's a cinch to get to the Vendée coast from here too: Saint-Jean-de-Monts is also within 20 minutes, and Saint-Hilaire-de-Riez and Saint Gilles Croix de Vie are each within half an hour. Watersports and beach basking are – but of course – all available around the nearby shores. Camping Le Bois Joli's local town is Bois-de-Céné, less than a kilometre away. If you don't want to stroll even this far for your French baguette fare, you can bag bread and pastries on site daily, freshly baked each morning. There's also a snack bar for light eats, and a grocery corner for essentials and camping gas. Once you're all stocked up, a good range of pursuits await for your leisurely pleasure: you can cast off – gratis – for carp, pike and roach at the on-site fishing pond, or toddle over to the swish pool complex for outdoor and indoor swims, bubbles in the Jacuzzi, or sunbathing sessions on the terrace alongside. The outdoor pool is open late and is where you should head (or stay) for music and other evening entertainment laid on by the site team in high season. And if that's not enough water time yet, there's always the lovely 3000m² lagoon, which has warm shallow waters for paddling and swims, plus soft sand to sunbathe on. Camping Le Bois Joli also has a play area with swings, slides and a sandpit.

Liked: Nous avons passé un séjour absolument incroyable dans ce camping ! Dès notre arrivée, nous avons été chaleureusement accueillis par une équipe souriante et toujours disponible. Le cadre est magnifique, parfaitement entretenu, avec beaucoup de verdure et une ambiance paisible qui invite à la détente.
Mention spéciale pour la piscine, idéale pour se rafraîchir et passer de bons moments en famille.
Les emplacements sont spacieux, bien ombragés et très propres.
Un grand bravo à toute l’équipe pour leur professionnalisme et leur gentillesse. Nous reviendrons sans hésiter et recommandons ce camping les yeux fermés !

Didn’t use pool and lagoon but looked good.
Good size pitch close to amenities.
Mixed toilets and showers but all clean (cleaned a few times a day).
Good welcome.
Convenient little supermarket just a short walk.

Nous vous remercions de votre commentaire et sommes déçus que vous n'ayez pas passer un agréable séjour dans notre camping.
Notre camping est équipé de deux grands blocs sanitaires ouvert pour les douches de 7h à 22h et ne fait pas l'objet de retours concernant un manque de quantité. Effectivement, l'éclairage de nuit est en défaut car le montage par nos prédécesseurs n'a pas été bien sécurisé. Nous travaillons pour l'année prochaine à la mise en place de lampes solaire avec éclairage veilleuse de nuit. Il est très étonnant, et inhabituelle de trouver un commentaire sur l'accueil et la politesse de la gérante. Nous sommes désolé que vous ayez eu l'impression qu'elle ne vous disait pas "bonjour" car c'est une personne charmante, très humaine, et qui aime la présence des campeurs dans le camping. Vous trouverez de nombreux avis sur les gérants indiquant leur bienveillance et leur aimabilité. Peut-être que ce jour là, il y a pu avoir une inattention involontaire et mal comprise ...
Nous remarquons, comme vous, que les parents se défaussent rapidement de leurs responsabilités de surveillance envers les enfants, nous le trouvons bien dommage également.
Nous vous remercions de votre retour, et prenons note de vos informations afin de continuer à travailler dans un lieu convivial et familial où règne la bonne humeur quotidienne.

Liked: L'emplacement était super bien placé, spacieux . Il y a des animations et des soirées à thème. Il y a trois piscines dont une chauffée et couverte. Il y a des aires de jeux pour les enfants. Les enfants peuvent aller jouer pendant que les parents peuvent aussi faire une pétanque ou du ping ping ou boire un verre sur la terrasse du bar. Nous avons passé un bon séjour de 15 jours.

Disliked: On a eu deux petits problèmes de sanitaire pendant le séjour qui ont été réglé rapidement mais je trouve qu'il y a peu de sanitaire pour le nombre de campeurs.

Local attractions

Make for the beach and sea of Les Moutiers-en-Retz first, for summer tours of the surrounding salt marshes, wildlife spotting around the same, and sea fishing from the town foreshore. The tourist office is in Church Square if you need help with booking trips, or you can pick up info on and tickets for several Vendée attractions back at Camping Le Bois Joli. From Moutiers, drive 20 minutes along the coast to Pornic, the port town with an old harbour where you can idle away hours feeling envious of the boat owners. If you're around of an evening, look to one end of the port for the restored 13th-century fortress of the Château de Pornic, which is rather prettily lit up at night. Also around for recommended day trips are the esteemed isle of Noirmoutier, within 40 minutes' drive, and the seaside town of Les Sables d'Olonne just over an hour away.

Admission

Admission is only permitted after registering at reception.
All guests spending the night at the park must present their ID at the reception desk and sign registration forms.
Under 18s must be accompanied by their parents or legal guardians.

Arrivals and departures

If the reception is closed on arrival, please check in at the Bar.
Late arrivals must notify the park as soon as possible. Your booking will be held for 24 hours. After this period the management reserves the right to relet your unit.
No refunds/discounts for inclement weather, late arrivals or early departures.
Units will be allocated on arrival.

Changes to your holiday

Modifications are subject to a €10.00 (£8.33) fee.

Dogs

A valid vaccination certificate must accompany your dog.
Dogs are prohibited from main facilities and amenities.
Dogs must be kept on leads and supervised at all times.
Guide dogs are allowed on site free of charge.

Pitches

Pitches: a €50.00 (£41.66) deposit is required on arrival and will be refunded on departure when returning the gate badge/barrier pass/toilet keys.
Units should not be left unoccupied unless previously agreed with the management. Please speak to reception when the need arises, a fee may be charged for unsupervised units.
You must follow the management directives when pitching your tent/unit and related equipment.

Pool

Only park guests are authorised to use the pool.
Please note there is no lifeguard on duty.
Swimsuits are obligatory and swimming shorts or Bermuda shorts are not permitted.

Reception

If reception is closed on arrival: please contact the number provided on your booking confirmation.
Reception is open from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. and from 2:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. between 04/04 and 04/10.

Barbecues are permitted but must be raised off the ground and attended by an adult at all times.
